SHAMROCK ‘N ROLL!! Your St. Patrick’s Day plans are all set this year! Holy Redeemer School in Kensington, MD will be holding its annual Shamrock ‘n Roll event on Saturday March 17th from 6:30 pm – 11:30 pm. This festive evening includes dinner, dancing and both a live and silent auction. The auction items include amazing getaway weekends to local and out of town resorts, weeks at local summer camps, spa certificates, restaurant certificates, and tickets to all types of local sporting events. The event is the major fundraiser for Holy Redeemer, a Catholic school with 400 boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grades located at 9715 Summit Avenue in Kensington, MD. Tickets for the Shamrock-n-Roll are $145 before March 12th and include admission for two to the dinner, dance and a chance in the raffle drawing for $5000 or a 1-yr tuition at Holy Redeemer. After March 12th, tickets will be $160.00. Raffle tickets may be purchased separately as well. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Coley Beggy at colebeggy@comcast.net or (301) 949-0627.

several wonderful artists, will be exhibiting their work at the Brookside Gardens Visitors Center this Holiday Season. Please drop by to see the show. If you don't mind the cold weather I hear the Brookside Light Show each evening is a spectacular site to see as well.
The Pate' Painters at Work
The Pate’ Painters
The Pate’ Painters is a most appropriate name for this art group as each time they get together to paint they celebrate life and friendship by drinking fine wines and eating pate’. They love to paint and they love to eat!
Besides their love of painting and pate’, the artists of The Pate’ Painters share a common bond. Their mutual respect for one another’s artistic ability and their admiration for each other are the basic grounds upon which this group was founded. Each member brings their own perspective of life as it is represented in their art. Their paintings depict places, people and scenes that are meaningful to the artists and pleasing to the viewer as well.
“Our members all began their artistic endeavors in the medium of transparent watercolor. Yet during our artistic journey through life, we have come across other mediums in which we choose to experiment and develop our talents. We add other mediums to our watercolors or have switched mediums all together. In our exhibition you will find works of watercolor, guache, acrylic, pastel, watercolor crayon and pencil, tinted papers and even fabric.”
The originating members of The Pate’ Painters include; Debra Halprin, Julie Smith, Carol Bouville and Lieta Gerson. Today that number has risen to almost 20 members. Members that will be exhibiting at the Brookside Gardens Visitors Center include: Carol Bouville, Debra Halprin, Mizi Kiper, Marian Mackerer, Pat Mulvenna, Michael Shibley, Julie Smith and Deborah Wolfe.
All are award winning artists. Their works may be found in public and private collections and Galleries throughout the United States and Europe.
