My Big Brother's Birthday!

Later that evening we had a small birthday party with friends.  Dan had a great day and I was happy to share this special day with him.  I recently wrote a post on "My Brother and RLS" and him not eating any dairy products.  The carrot cake in the photo was made by his friend Misti Kilgore.  There … (15 comments)

GVT will present “Nevermore” on October 29th  and 30th.   The mystery surrounding Edgar Allen Poe’s death and his final days are the inspiration behind this enthralling and deeply human musical.  In a dream-like manner, “Nevermore” is a biographical sketch that uses the author’s own words to examine his relationships with the women in his life, revealing the emotional life that helped create one of America’s literary giants.

It’s October, 1849; Poe is ill, frequently drunk, and close to death. In his extended dream he suffers the visions of his young … (5 comments)

What's Under the Sink? - 10/18/10 11:03 PM

When I went to the laundry room to start a load of clothes in the washer today, I remembered there was a contest going on about What's Under the Sink, proof that I  can blog about anything.

So, I looked under the sink in the laundry room.  You guessed it, I found Tide, bleach, woolite, and some other cleaning supplies.  Nothing exciting, but glad to see I had Tide to do my laundry, and woolite to wash my sweaters.  While separating the clothes, I started thinking of what we as real estate agents wear to work each day, … (10 comments)

My husband and I spent Sunday afternoon with friends down near Talcott, West Virginia, which is about an hour from our home.   Our friend has a log cabin and had invited some friends over for a shrimp boil.  The day was cool about 54 degrees and a fire was going strong when we arrived, as well as the party.  While sitting around drinking, eating and laughing I looked over the door and saw the below sign....I just had to take this photo.....what a hoot!

Alone and Hungry - 10/03/10 02:53 PM

While out showing houses with my clients, we saw a fawn in the nearby woods.  The client goes over and the young deer starts licking his hand for a good five minutes. I had plenty of time to get my camera and snap a few photos.

We then go into the house and when we came out the fawn was in the yard waiting for us. He continued to pet the small deer until we were ready to go.  The poor thing was so skinny and must have been hungry and we had nothing to feed him.  Seems … (14 comments)
