January brings a flurry of activities to The Greenbrier, beginning with the inaugural Winterfest Weekend, January 7-9. Nationally recognized ice carvers will compete in individual and team carving competitions. Golfers of all ages can test their skills in the Snow Golf Tournament while diamond connoisseurs can appreciate the exquisite beauty of Roberto Coin’s Cento Collection. As an added treat, the state’s only synchronized skating team, West Virginia Synchro, will perform on Saturday and Sunday. This weekend also marks the debut of the resort’s Comedy Night and a cabaret of popular American show tunes.

greenbrier resort: Yes I did, I Shopped Til I Dropped at the Greenbrier's Spectacular Retail Sale - 03/27/10 11:28 PM
Well, I did what I said I was going to do....shop til I drop at the Greenbrier's Spectacular Retail Sale on Thursday, March 25,.......fashion merchandise, high end giftware, jewelry, books, furniture and home décor was discounted by 70% or more. Ladies, men’s and children’s apparel, as well as items from many of the resort’s 15 retail shops, were included in this sale. I bought some beautiful home décor items and gifts for my newborn grand nephew.

By now you have heard about the The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA Tour Event to be held at The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, WV.
If you are interested in being a volunteer for the Greenbrier Classic the applications are now available online at www.greenbrierclassic.com.
The event, scheduled for July 26 through August 1, 2010, on The Old White Course, will bring the world’s greatest players and tens of thousands of fans to the resort.

The Greenbrier Classic is the definitive golf experience, sure to make history as the PGA TOUR's first FedExCup event held in the Mountain State. The Greenbrier Classic, which will be held July 26 – August 1, 2010, will be played on the historic, Old White, The Greenbrier’s first 18-hole course.

Plans for building The Bunker at the Greenbrier Resort started in 1956 and was completed in 1962. The Bunker was to be the U.S. Government Relocation facility under the West Virginia Wing of The Greenbrier.
In the event of a national emergency, the 112,544 sq. ft. facility would have been activated and used by the US Congress and support staff.

It was a known fact that Marriott International, Inc., was really interested in buying the resort. But, today we heard different.....a West Virignia businessman buys the Greenbrier Resort, located in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Jim Justice, Lewisburg, WV, is the new owner of The Greenbrier Resort. Jim is one of the most successful business people in West Virginia, growing coal and agriculture businesses that have made him a millionaire many times over.
