The West Virginia BLAZERS will take on Team Habitat and an All-Star team of local personalities, including Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.,Winner of "Americas Got Talent".
All proceeds of the Slam Dunk 2012 go to building the Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia “Raising the Bar” House in Huntington. Date: Thursday, March 15 Time: 6:30pm Location: Huntington High School in Huntington, WV.

Habitat for Humanity of WV celebrates 25 years in the Mountain State. For this 25th Anniversary Celebration they are building The Silver Lining Home located in Huntington, WV. To raise money for the construction of this milestone, Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia is hosting an online raffle beginning on March 3 - June 2, 2012.
Tickets are now available for $25 each and can be purchased on line at www.HabitatWV.org
Drawings will be held weekly....each Friday beginning March 9th and ending with the grand prize on Saturday, June 2, 2012.

In 2012, Habitat for Humanity will celebrate 25 years in West Virginia! Habitat affiliates have partnered with West Virginia families all throughout our State to construct nearly 700 new Habitat homes and served thousands with rehabilitations and homebuyer education.
It has taken more than 100,000 nails, thousands of volunteers, over 35 million dollars, and hundreds of very special West Virginia families to pave the way for this significant West Virginia milestone.

My friend Lora Pierce is the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia. When I found out that she was working a booth at the State Fair, and had no volunteers to assist .... I immediately said I would volunteer to help set up and work at the booth.
So, today we arrived at 8:30 am, set up the Habitat for Humanity booth and were ready by 9:00 am. It was a warm, breezy day to be at the fair. We had quite a few people stop by the booth. We answered questions, gave out pamphlets … (7 comments)

The West Virginia and Almost Heaven "Habitat for Humanity" had volunteers helping with their fund-raising efforts at the Greenbrier Classic. Eighteen volunteers were staying in a three-bedroom, one-bath house. You can imagine how crowded this was for everyone, and the air conditioner really wasn't putting out the cold air needed for as many people coming and going.

Today was a perfect spring day to be working on the Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity's Women Build House in White Sulphur Springs, WV. The morning was cool, but by 2:00 pm, the temperature was 70 degrees. Saturday, April 30 was the start of National Women Build Week (April 30-May 8, 2011).
During the week, members of the Blue Bells Garden Club in Lewisburg volunteered, and Neil Rhoades added the trim on the interior windows.
