west virginia: A Breath of Mountain Air, Come Home to West Virginia - 01/08/12 06:55 PM
"A Breath of Mountain Air, Come Home to West Virginia" is the title of a new music video by Darrell Ramsey. The lyrics give a good description of West Virginia Pride...."deeper than a hollow, brighter than the sun...." and the photos depict the state and great mountains of West Virginia. There have been quite a few music videos of West Virgina. The one that comes to mind is "Almost Heaven West Virginia" by John Denver. And I put Ramsey's video, the music, lyrics and vocal right there with John Denver's "Almost Heaven" video. I hope you enjoy

Diary of a Realtor - Why I Chose Real Estate? First, I need to give you a little background about my parents. My parents were hard working folks. My mother had given birth to 12 children. I was the ninth child. (In the photo to the right, I was three years old.) She was a great mother, who never worked outside the home. Of course, with raising the kids, cooking and cleaning she never had time to think about another job. I remember when I was 18, mom and I went to Florida. She was actually thinking

Wordless Wednesday, Not Really - Getting Ready for Winter The weather report for this Friday calls for snow in parts of West Virginia. These squirrels know and are preparing for winter. Just before sitting down to breakfast at Lana and John Martindale in Summersville, WV, this morning, I had a fun time watching the squirrels gathering and hiding nuts for the winter. They were just adorable. I tried to get photos of them standing, but by camera was too slow (time for a new one). My winter preparation was completed last month.....winter

west virginia: Dogs are not allowed in the swimming area.....OH NO! - 09/02/10 07:48 AM
On Sunday, my husband and I decided to take our chocolate lab, Zeke, to Blue Bend Recreation Park at Monongahela National Forest. We have been there many times, and I even wrote a post on our first visit at Blue Bend with Zeke. We were having a great time, enjoying a picnic and playing with Zeke in the water. He loves to play "fetch" anyplace, anywhere, anytime. After spending about two hours of playing "fetch" in the river, a forest ranger approached my husband and warned us that dogs are not allowed in the water were
