I just had to post this photo I received in an email today. It really made me laugh. I am just thankful we didn't haven't had much snow this winter. Hard to believe that yesterday it was 67 degrees .... loving it!

The weather here in Lewisburg, West Virginia is not as bad as it was this time last year. The temperature is around 25 degrees and only about five inches of snow compared to last years snow fall of over 25 inches. I was reading Andrea Swiedle and Steve Loynd's post today and was amazed at the snow fall Connecticut and New Hampshire has....New England really got some snow as well as many other areas on the East Coast. My two younger sisters lives in Charlotte, NC and their work was closed because of the inclement weather. And, (15 comments)
You can see this talking parrot at the Cooper Gallery in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She talks a lot, mimics cats, dogs, and some people. She loves to whistle and is quite a talker. I always have to say hello to her whenever I stop in to visit my friends Marilyn and Gary Cooper. But, watch out don't put you fingers too close, as she has been known to bite a few patron's fingers.

Wordless Wednesday, Not Really - Getting Ready for Winter
The weather report for this Friday calls for snow in parts of West Virginia. These squirrels know and are preparing for winter. Just before sitting down to breakfast at Lana and John Martindale in Summersville, WV, this morning, I had a fun time watching the squirrels gathering and hiding nuts for the winter. They were just adorable. I tried to get photos of them standing, but by camera was too slow (time for a new one).

My brother had a visitor one morning. When he goes to open the kitchen door....this little fella was waiting for him. I believe he was hungry and looking for some food...and perhaps a warm place to hide from the cats. Before taking off to the woods, the house keeper took this photo of the mouse.....
