This particular home I called “The Treehouse”, is a lakefront property I listed and sold years ago and the boys that inhabit it love to use their front yard and there have been times after school’s out that I see them running down from the house onto their expansive lakefront area, running pellmell straight for the water! It’s one of my most favorite scenes to watch as I cruise along on my pontoon on Fishhawk Lake during the summer months.

While on double back-to-back listing appointments, I ran across these two "locals", my Fishhawk Lake buddies, Fr. Rock and Bernie. I had stopped to take some spring afternoon photos of Fishhawk Lake in all its glory when these two happened along. We exchanged updated conversations about what all of us were doing at that moment and I suggested getting a photo of them over by the lake.
They happily obliged.

Out in the remote area of Fishhawk Lake, power outages happen. That's just the way it goes with storms, downed trees, old equipment that hasn't been updated by West Oregon Electric Cooperative, our power source--it happens more often than in other parts of the coastal range of Oregon and urban areas.
What to do? Have a back-up source of power! Get yourself a propane generator. That way, if an outage occurs, instead of scrambling for candles and flashlights (which are good to have, but can't offer heat), you can have a dedicated panel with a propane … (21 comments)

But not bad looking for a sewage treatment plant, huh? Fishhawk Lake is a self-sustaining community with our own water treatment plant at one end of the lake, where Fishhawk Creek feeds the lake, and at the other end is this, our sewage treatment plant.
