Over the past weekend, I was working with a nice family moving to Monroe from the Dallas area. They had an idea of where they wanted to live, but we tried to cover all the bases and view homes in Monroe, West Monroe and Calhoun. You see, they have a special request. Their son is a blossoming GOLFER! They really want to live on or near a golf course so it will be very easy for son (and DAD) to get to the links.

BREAKING NEWS!!  GUARANTEED RURAL HOUSING DISASTER FUNDS RECEIVED IN LOUISIANA!!Rural Development in Louisiana has received approximately $321 million in Hurricane Disaster funds for the storms of 2005 and 2008.  These funds will be used to obligate guaranteed rural housing loans in the 52 declared disaster parishes in Louisiana.  Ouachita Parish is within the declared area.

To keep you posted so you can make good decisions about buying and/or selling, here are the statistics for sales of homes in Ouachita Parish for the period of Jan--October. I have included the past 2 years so you can see how the market has moved during this "housing crisis".  It has pretty much been a non-event here in Ouachita Parish.
