Remember the "good old days" when you pulled into a "Service Station" and actually got service? May I check your oil? How are those tires? All this while the gas was pumping in your car and you didn't have to lift a finger. If you aren't old enough to remember, this was service. Then when the tank was filled the "Service Station Attendant" brought you  a clip board with your gas receipt to be signed, gold or green stamps or your change and you never left your car. For those of you that think the Superbowl is just for football, think again. The operators of the University of Phoenix Stadium home of the the 42nd Superbowl, Global Spectrum in conjunction with St. Mary's/Westside Food Bank Alliance are teaming up to collect 63,400 meals, the exact number of seats in the stadium.
The food drive is called "Supper Bowl 2008" and it began last Sunday during a bridal show at the stadium. People attending events at the stadium now until the big game are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for donations.

October 27 begins the 100 day countdown to the Superbowl. Amazing isn't it that we are almost to 2008! There is a FREE event on the 27th at Westgate City Center in Glendale - next to the home of Superbowl 42; The University of Phoenix Stadium. If you are a baseball fan and can't get enough then the Arizona Fall League is for you. The league is comprised of six teams: the Scottsdale Scorpions, Mesa Solar Sox, Peoria Saguaros, Phoenix Desert Dogs, Peoria Javelinas and Grand Canyon Rafters. These club names were picked by Major League Baseball as reflective of the Southwestern desert traditions in the state.

Remember the joke about weather, everyone talks about it but nobody does anything about it? That can certainly be applied to Home Owner Associations.
People gripe and complain about the board, the decisions, and the rules, but they don't DO anything about it. I receive three or four complaints a week about our HOA and when I asked where they were at the last meeting I get some "lame" excuse. I look at many posts and they are so interesting with pictures and images I thought I would branch out and try one of my own.
Arizona is known as the Grand Canyon State and the picture at the left is just one of the many gorgeous views of this incredible wonder.
