The banks preferred to close a file than give an extension to close. They don't understand that re-initiate the short sale take more time than an extension and it will cost more money to them because, they have to pay for another appraisal, BPO or CMA, taxes  and home insurance and the risk that the house worth less money. In other words they are losing more money than expected and I think they really don't care.
