GDP Financial Services seeks to put in motion the wheels of positive change affecting the livelihoods of people across the world, and in doing so attempts to make a major impact by focusing resources on the processes that will also affect a friendlier environmental existence.

We operate from the basic belief that positive change must be supported and encouraged where the proper conditions exist. Affecting this belief in our world is a great responsibility, and we are fortunate in this unique opportunity to be able to initiate quantifiable differences in the lives of individuals worldwide by providing access to funding where traditional sources often fall short.

We achieve this by seeking out global projects from organizations that are humanitarian, environmentally friendly, job creating and socially redeemable. We're dedicated to help provide these organizations with the financial means to realize their vision and achieve their goals by matching their projects with our funding sources.

We provide the necessary project oversight to enhance the success of projects submitted to our funding sources thereby increasing the number of environmental, humanitarian, job creating and social redeemable projects implemented on a global level benefiting people worldwide.

This misinformation causes people to discount the added benefits of what ethanol can do to reduce dependence on imported oil. This perception of taking food out of people’s mouths is simply not true. There are two types of corn – sweet corn and feed corn (cow corn). People do not normally eat cow corn as it is very starchy, has a more bitter taste and is not appealing to humans. Cow corn based ethanol can easily add 10% to the current gasoline volume without increasing crop production. Ethanol produced in the USA reduces the dependency on foreign oil.

We propose building Phase Two Ethanol plants that use animal feed corn (commonly called Number 2 Yellow Dent corn or cow corn). Cow corn (about $5 per bushel) is cheaper than sweet corn (normally about 3 ears per $1). Cow corn can store up to a year without reduction of the quality of the corn.

A normal ethanol plant produces DDGS (Dried Distiller Grain Soluble) at a protein level of 12% protein as a by-product of ethanol production. It is used as animal feed. It is normally shipped in bulk by truck.

Our Phase Two plants concentrate the DDGS into a new product: High Endo Sperm Soluble (HPES) which are at 32% protein concentration vs the old way of producing 12% protein DDGS. That means our value added HPES has 3X (three times) the protein per ton. Because the HPES is concentrated protein, it’s an animal feed supplement which can be added to lesser grade feeds to reduce cow and pig feeding expenses. HPES is 3X concentrated so that shipping costs are less than for shipping non-concentrated DDGS (less fuel and less space used for transport). HPES commands a higher price than DDGS – although it costs the same to produce once the plant is set up. There is a reduction in the use of animal growth hormones as the protein in higher concentration enables the animals to grow faster (it is protein that adds muscle mass to animals not starch).

Cow corn has the following major components:

Fiber 9.5%

Germ 4.0%

Protein 9.5%

Starch 62.0%

Water 15.0%

The ethanol production uses the corn starch to make 200-proof alcohol (ethanol). Our Phase Two plants will produce 18 pounds of HPES (32% protein grain) versus 18 pounds of 10-12% protein grain for every bushel of cow corn.

Remember when laundry detergent was sold in large 84 ounce containers? Now laundry detergent is sold in the small concentrated soap bottles of 32 ounces for a higher price than the old larger containers. Both clean the same amount of clothes. The concentrated smaller bottles cost less to ship and have less impact on the environment.

That is what a Phase Two plant does. It reduces the residual grain product in ethanol production into a HPES concentrate that has less volume, is easier to ship and is more cost effective for farmers. It saves fuel, time and resources.

Another environmental concern is that cow corn fed directly to animals has a high starch content.

Corn starch is digested in cows and made into sugar that makes methane gas which goes directly into the air. The Phase Two plants make the HPES concentrated protein germ meal, which has less starch and more protein. This will produce a lot less methane gas in cows. Methane gas is a major hothouse gas that causes global warming.

In summary:

1. A Phase Two Ethanol plant has a value added component of producing HPES.

2. HPES is an increased profit center that saves farmers fuel and money.

3. The added cow corn usage does not change the cow supply of food, it just concentrated. The higher protein (32%) allows animals to grow faster with less growth hormones.

4. Ethanol is a local renewable source of energy, lessening dependency on foreign oil.

5. 64% of the corn produced in the USA is animal food. Phase Two Ethanol Plants do not destroy the corn by-products. They concentrate them into HPES (High Protein Endo Sperm), a high protein animal food.

6. Sweet corn in not used in Phase Two Ethanol Plants. Therefore these plants do not harm people’s food shelves or cause food prices to increase.

Sweet corn in not used in Phase Two Ethanol Plants. Therefore these plants do not harm people’s food shelves or cause food prices to increase.

Buenos Aires (a.k.a. the Paris of South America) has embarked on a dramatic turnaround since the 2001 collapse of the Argentine peso — but the place is still amazingly cheap.

Chic hotel rooms, nights out dancing and fabulous food and wine cost half what they do across the Atlantic. A huge thick-cut steak dinner? Rarely more than $25.

Bali

With the dollar holding steady against the Indonesian rupiah over the past year, Bali has become one of the best island values in Asia.

Luxury bungalows nestled in lush hillsides can be had for $100 to $200 a night. At countless stone temples you can often see shadow-puppet performances for free or a small donation. And half-hour massages typically cost less than $15.

Costa Rica

Incredibly, Americans now have about a third more buying power in this natural wonderland than they did five years ago — a dollar equals around 500 Costa Rican colones today vs. 360 then.

You can explore beaches good for surfing, then go snorkeling in coral reef-filled bays.Don't miss the rainforests, which teem with wildlife — including rare quetzals with spectacular plumage.

Mexico

With the peso/dollar exchange rate steady over the past couple of years, Mexico remains a prime bargain destination.

The hottest area now is arguably Mexico City, booming with new museums, a historical architectural revival, and a vibrant music and arts scene. Entry to the city's huge Museum of Modern Art, where you can see works by Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera, costs just $2.

Morocco

Though the Moroccan dirham has strengthened a bit against the dollar in the past year, in the ancient cities of Casablanca, Fez and Marrakech many café meals still cost less than $5.

Classic budget hotels in atmospheric narrow streets, such as the Hotel El Muniria in Tangier, where Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac stayed, cost around $30 a night. Plenty of luxury hotels are available too.

Panama

This small country boasts mountains, rainforests, 1,500 miles of coast (your pick of the Caribbean or Pacific) and — of course — the magnificent canal, where you can gawk at giant supertankers being raised and lowered through the locks.

Forget exchange rates: Panama's currency, the balboa, is pegged at parity with the U.S. dollar, and the dollar itself is accepted virtually everywhere.

Vietnam

There's never been a better time to visit one of Asia's most fascinating countries, with pristine beaches and unique crafts: The dollar goes further against the Vietnamese dong than it did three years ago.

You may have enough left to splurge on a fivestar hotel, such as the new Park Hyatt in Ho Chi Minh City ($290 a night vs. up to $675 for a comparable room in Chicago).

The previous weeks level of sales (plus my personal hopes) lead me to make that statement, but today’s numbers showed a renewed thrust to the downside with regard to sales volume. The number of homes in Escrow in south Orange County are at 430, and almost 8% drop from the previous 2 weeks.

In addition, based upon history (refer to graph of Active .vs. Pending ), the lowest level of sales (homes in escrow) most always occurs in late December and early January, with the number of sales at this time of the year slowly declining each week until about January 15th or so. So if history repeats itself this time around, we are in for one very slow Fall/Winter homes sales season. You will see DataQuick and various newspapers reporting these slow sales numbers in several months from now, once the close escrow and are reported by the various reporting agencies. On a somewhat positive note, I still don’t think these record breaking low sales numbers can last much longer..

Also turning the downside again, are sales prices…. No real surprise there… Referring to the Price Chart attached which shows price per square foot, prices started heading down in may of 2006’, and briefly rebounded in July of 2007’, and now are heading back down again, probably to a new lower level. We look at Price per Square Foot, for both detached SFR’s and attached condos, for the middle ground of the market, for this gives us a much more accurate, and more timely direction of local price movements compared to the Median and Average price Stats that the press has been disseminating in the past, which has been very misleading…

Well they say “Imitation is the best form of Flattery”… I won’t mention names, but I have noticed over the past 12 months several new individuals and agencies starting to chart and quote statistics based upon homes Active for Sale, versus Homes in Escrow. We developed this Stat and started tracking this back in July of 2002’, for it delivers a much more timely real time indicator, as compared to the traditional Months of Inventory based upon the past Quarterly or 6 months of closed sales data

Well, as we all must have heard by now the FED lowered the FED Funds and the Discount Rate each by .50pt

That is great for the economy but how about our industry (Real Estate)?

I believe it will help in the long run, however in the short term it would be probable the Banks will use the next 12 months to build liquidity. I still anticipate that the Credit crunch may ease a bit. I am fortunate enough to have credible buyers. I think this may be just the insentive to make that decision to buy now.

I stand positive on our SoCal market.

Lets all believe it so.

Alan Greenspan is to be interviewed on CBS and early comments he has already made are, to me somewhat preposterous.

1st quote. "I think he is doing an excellent job," Greenspan said of Bernanke in a television interview scheduled to air Sunday.

He went on to say he would have been handling the economy in the same fashion. Geeze

He was then asked if he would have been as quick to lower interest rates as in the way he did in the 2001 dot com recession.

2nd Quote: "You can't do that anymore. ... I'm not sure I would have done anything different (if chairman today)," he added.

Greenspan is really sounding like a man with no conscience or remorse for Jumping ship just before this current spiral. Downward that is.

Greenspan said that as Fed chief he knew about questionable lending practices that were leaving subprime borrowers with adjustable rate loans vulnerable to harm from rising interest
rates, but did not recognize those loans would trigger broader problems until fairly recently, CBS said.

3rd Quote: "I Didn't Get it"

What the #@$$#@#$ is he talking about. He didn't get it.

Yeah thats why he tood off just prior to all this mess..

Money is one of the most important inventions of humankind. Without it, a complex, modern economy based on division of labor, and the consequent widespread exchange of goods and services, would be impossible. Unfortunately, many experts believe we are on the verge of a financial crisis. In recent years the value of the US dollar has dropped significantly, inflation has increased, consumer debt has reached an all-time high, and the US housing market has become dangerously unstable. We will examine each of these issues in greater detail in the coming weeks, beginning with a look at inflation and the decline of the dollar.

Our current economic predicament is consistent with the Bible's description of the end times. The black horseman of Revelation 6 calls our attention to, not just famine at the onset of the Tribulation, but also to an economic condition where a man's daily wages are so small, he can barely support himself much less his family. What kind of condition would produce that? The answer is one which has emerged today and which, for the first time in the history of mankind, is for all intents and purposes universal: monetary inflation.

At present, approximately two thirds of world trade is conducted in dollars and two thirds of central banks' currency reserves are held in the American currency which remains the sole currency used by international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund. This confers on the US a major economic advantage: the ability to run a trade deficit year after year. US always spends more than it earns, whereas the rest of the world always earns more than it spends.

The strength of the dollar is closely related to the fact that oil, the most important commodity traded in the world, is priced in US currency. The majority of countries that are oil importers have to buy their oil in dollars, which forces them to keep most of their foreign currency in dollars. However that could change. More and more nations are moving away from the dollar. China, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Iran, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and others have already announced plans to gradually move their reserves from the dollar into other currencies such as the euro. A widespread move away from the dollar could cripple the US economy - a sudden shift could even cause the US dollar to crash.

David M. Walker, Comptroller General of the United States, has warned that the nation is on the path to financial ruin: "What they don't talk about is a dirty little secret everyone in Washington knows, or at least should. The vast majority of the economists and budget analysts agree: The ship of state is on a disastrous course, and will founder on the reefs of economic disaster if nothing is done to correct it."

If the US government conducts business as usual over the next few decades, a national debt that is already $8.5 trillion could reach $46 trillion or more, adjusted for inflation. A hole that big could paralyze the US economy; according to some projections, just the interest payments on a debt that big would be as much as all the taxes the government collects today. And every year that nothing is done about it, the problem grows by $2 trillion to $3 trillion (yes, that's with a "t"). It doesn't take a genius to recognize that an economic upheaval is in the making.

If the United States is indeed facing a financial crisis, what should we do about it? How can we prepare for times of economic uncertainty?

This is the first installment in a three part series on the state of the economy in America. Next week we will continue our assessment with a look at the challenges facing the US housing market.

Doug Pemberton

Every Marketing guru has a system to sell, a book to buy, a list to build. yadda yadda yadda.

I found out shearly by accident how to use a prior business venture to attract new clients. The best part is IT'S FACE TO FACE.

Prior to getting my Real Estate license I was an out of work computer consultant. Much like the R.E. market today, the High Tech industry or the so called dot com boom busted and back in late 03-04 I invested into an Oxygen Bar.

My first client was the White Lotus in Hollywood. At that time the White Lotus was the hottest night club in L.A. and southern Cal. I had many hollywood stars and sports celebs using the Oxygen bar. The Oxygen bar generated some very good income, but I had aspirations other than being in a night club selling Oxygen. At that time I was also working on getting my Real Estate License. Once I received my license I packed up the Oxybar and started spending money on marketing and buying books and tapes as to How to prospect and find clients. I farmed and door knocked. None of which are bad ways to market but costly and time consuming. I just didn't like to do it. Who really does. I know there are plenty of you that are very proficient at marketing this way.

So the small little Brokerage I was working for had an office in Dana Point. Each year they have the Whale Festival to celebrate the migration of the grey whales which pass by Dana Point. There is a parade and the whole city has a street fair. Well we decided to get a booth at the street fair and Place ourselves and our Brand out for potential buyers and sellers. We didn't get much traffic the first year. Nobody wanted to stop at a booth where Realtors would talk about listing your home and/or finding you a new home.

I thought I have a great idea that may work to get people to stop at our booth the next year (which was Mar 07). We where going to try setting up my Oxygen bar at our booth to offer people something other than a Branded Bookmark or a Notepad with my picture on it. We were located right at the end of the parade so people that walked in the parade would finish at our location. People were hot and tired. Everyone walked by and asked what is this? IT'S AN OXYGEN BAR. How much is it? Its free to anyone that wants to be get a natural high and be refreshed just like an athlete who goes to the sideline and puts the oxygen mask on to be reinvigorated. Wouldn't you know it. People that said they didn't want to by anything before they sat down. Were filling our our form and wanted to talk about selling their home and 3 people from N, Cal and Ariz and LA asked me to find them property to buy. I am still looking for the property for two of these activly. We have looked a 2mil - 5 mil and two others for ONLY $1mil.

This was probably the best marketing I have ever done. And it was at no cost to me. People really love the Oxygen Bar.. It has aroma therepy that relaxes or gives energy when you breathe it. It also can get rid of a hangover and increases memory retension.

I am looking for new locations with community events to promote our industry. If you are a Realtor/Lender/TitleRep/Escrow in SoCal and you would like to partner together at an event please let me know.

Doug Pemberton

Live Right Do Right and you'll be alright

At least one influential economist is urging the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates quickly and preemptively.

Fed Board of Governors' member Frederic S. Mishkin said in a white paper that the Fed could prevent a lot of damage from a severe housing slump by acting swiftly to cut interest rates aggressively before the slump gets any worse.

Mishkin says the harm that falling home prices do to the economy is predictable, so there's no value in waiting until the damage is done. By acting quickly, he says, the Fed can buoy consumer spending and minimize the loss in economic output while suffering only a small increase in the inflation rate. Such a policy, he writes, "can be extremely successful at counteracting the real effects of [a] very large housing slump."

The required cuts would actually be slightly less than the total under a typical monetary policy, he says, because they would forestall part of the economic decline. Rates would hit bottom about two years after a price decline begins. Under a traditional strategy, Mishkin says, rates wouldn't hit bottom until three or four years after a housing slump takes hold - and economic output would suffer a much bigger hit.

Source: BusinessWeek Online, Peter Coy (09/07/07)

September 8, 2007, 5:00 pm
Bernanke, the Fed and 2008

By The New York Times

In his web column today, Tom Redburn, a deputy business editor for The Times, writes that Ben S. Bernanke and his fellow Federal Reserve decision-makers could prove highly influential in the presidential race:

Until financial markets went haywire last month, the Sept. 18 meeting of Federal Reserve policymakers was shaping up to be pretty routine. The Fed, after all, has not changed its benchmark interest rate in more than a year, and there was no reason to think that the coming session was going to be any different.

It sure looks different now. The latest blow came on Friday with an estimate from the Labor Department that the economy actually lost jobs last month, ending a four-year string of uninterrupted gains in employment. But even before that dismal report, most people on Wall Street had been clamoring for the Fed to cut rates significantly to help ease the credit crunch.

And ever since Aug. 7 - when Fed chairman Ben S. Bernanke engineered a cut in the less critical discount rate at which banks borrow directly from the central bank - Mr. Bernanke has signaled that the Fed is inclined to actively trim borrowing costs at least once in hopes of preventing the sickness in the housing industry from infecting the rest of the economy.

But will that be enough? The answer to that question is likely to affect the political climate - but in unpredictable ways.

Congress returned from vacation this week ready to propose a variety of mortgage borrower protection legislation.

On Wednesday, Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, announced plans for a bill that aims to curtail predatory lending by prohibiting prepayment penalties on subprime loans, making it illegal for lenders to write subprime mortgages for prime borrowers, and banning yield-spread premiums on subprime mortgages.

Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee - Chairman Barney Frank of Massachusetts and North Carolina Reps. Melvin Watt and Brad Miller - plan to introduce a bill that is likely to mirror Dodd's in most respects, but they want to address another issue as well. Their version will propose making secondary buyers of mortgage debt legally liable for the underlying loans.

Anne Canfield, executive director of the Consumer Mortgage Coalition, which represents national lenders, says that additional liability would increase interest rates by an average of 1.5 to 2 percentage points.

Getting this or any anti-predatory lending legislation passed isn't a slam-dunk because, in general, Republicans aren't supportive. "The one thing we shouldn't do is rush out and change a market that is working and working well, and brought home ownership to historic highs," says Republican Rep. Spencer Bachus, the ranking member of the House Finance Committee.

Source: The Wall Street Journal, James R.
