United States Senator Johnny Isakson is a REALTOR® and a great friend to the real estate industry and a proponent for homeownership and personal property rights. I wanted to share this video because I think it's important information. I had the distinct pleasure to attend Senator Johnny Isakson's first official First-Time Homebuyer Workshop on Saturday, June 27, on behalf of the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®. With about 100 attendees, many potential, interested first-time buyers, Senator Isakson's staff thought the event was a successful first try. GOOD NEWS! (And there doesn't seem to be that much of it lately!) Last week, the U.S. Senate unanimously approved an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2010 Budget Resolution by U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga. The amendment seeks to stimulate the nation's declining housing market by providing for a $15,000 tax credit to individuals who purchase a home in the next year. The limit on the housing stimulus tax credit will be $15,000 or 10% of the purchase price, whichever is less.
