IT'S MAPLE SYRUP TIME IN CONNECTICUT - 02/27/07 04:30 PM
LIVING IN BLOOMFIELD WHICH IS ONLY ONE MILE FROM WEST HARTFORD AND 4 MILES FROM HARTFORD.  I AM ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES TO ACTUALLY SEE HOW IT IS MADE.  I HAVE TWO NEIGHBORS THAT MAKE MAPLE SYRUP.  ONE IS ON FIVE ACRES WITH THE ORIGINAL FARM HOUSE FOR THE HILL THAT WE LIVE ON.  HE BUILT A SUGAR HOUSE SHACK THAT IS QUITE IMPRESSIVE AND HAS ALL OF THE LATEST EQUIPMENT. THERE ARE FLORESCENT GREEN LINES GOING ALL OVER HIS PROPERTY ATTACHED TO EVERY MAPLE TREE. I GUESS THEY DRAIN INTO ONE SPOT SO HE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO FROM TREE TO TREE … (0 comments)

CONNECTICUT'S WINTER EXPO of 2007 - MARKET REPORT - 02/03/07 07:46 AM
We had our Winter Expo at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Jeff Haynes reports that First Time Buyers and Condo buyers along with refi's are the key markets for us in 2007.
We all know the NAR reports about the housing drop comparing to 2005 including new construction.
The markets that are showing signs of growth in our state are the Condo market which was reported as unbelievably strong according to Joseph J. Ferraro, Jr., Treasurer of CTAMB.  The baby-boomers are still downsizing and finding it attractive to move into a condo because of low/no maintenance.  They have paid off their houses … (1 comments)

MULTIFAMLY SECTOR SOARS IN NORTHEAST - 02/02/07 01:06 PM
This is the headline news on the front page of The Commercial Record" for Friday 2/2/07.
They are telling us that single-family homes finished in 06 slower than multi-families.  They do define the region of "Northeast" which is CT, MA,RI, NY, NJ, NH,PA, Maine and Vermont.  They did not give us numbers to verify this headline but they are backing it up with the fact that cost of condo's today are making it so that buyers are turning to Multi families but all through agents opinions.
The article does mention that the Northeast has not taken the bigger hit in sales as other parts … (0 comments)
