In Part 1 of this post, I laid-out many of the distinct advantages Will County (located in northern Illinois) had from a business perspective. In this Part 2, I want to focus on some of the services and features that exist within Will County that help enhance a resident's personal life, residence, and lifestyle. It will back-up the information supplied via my earlier post and in the recent Chicago Tribune article report that "Will County's home prices are staying positive" ... and my opinion that the County offers much to the prospective home buyer. Nothing typically speaks more loudly to potential residents than that (9 comments)
Will County, Illinois ... Showcasing a Great Place to Live, Pt. 1
Will County in Illinois is beating the odds! The Illinois Association of Realtors recently reported that Will County's median and average home prices rose during the 1st Quarter of 2011 versus the prices of a year ago. According to the Chicago Tribune's reporter, Mary Ellen Podmolik ... all the national accolades that many of the County's communities have received has definitely boosted the county's reputation as a good place to live. The positive news regarding home prices proves it. (6 comments)
While trying to catch-up on some of my favorite AR bloggers this morning, I ran across this post from Sally and David Hanson, Keller Williams agents from Brookfield, WI, an area close to Milwaukee. Sally and David always seem to be busy and giving of themselves in one way or another. This post proves they've been at it again. I thought their suggestion regarding the donation of time-shares was a novel one and something well worth passing on. Should you have questions as to how to accomplish this, please contact Sally and David Hanson from Keller Williams. I'm sure they would be (2 comments)
Last week saw the partial destruction of a Naperville, IL home due to fire that lit in an accumulation of dryer lint beneath the clothes dryer. Thankfully, the fire was doused in a speedy manner and no loss of life was suffered. Only about $5,000 in damage was done to the property, most of which was to the basement where the dryer was found. These homeowners were lucky. The appearance of this article brought home safety and fire protection to my mind ... so here's a bit of information for you to know regarding the specific issues of (13 comments)
I thought this information from Michelle Gibson, Hansen Real Estate Group, South Wellington, Florida ... regarding Target's recycling efforts (and opportunity for savings) so worthy of note and re-blogging. Who of us doesn't have a zillion of those darn pesky plastic bags collecting around our house? Now we have another handy and convenient drop-off for them, instead of the landfill. Great News! Thanks Michelle! I sincerely thought about doing this entire post in FLAMING RED. That's how frustrated ... how upset I was ... how close to flames ... after reading and viewing a video about a new Google service being launched regarding mortgage and financial services. Attached you will find that link to the video I speak of. As a mortgage lender, this new service they are promoting to potential home buyers alarms me greatly. It totally undercuts the important messages that I am personally trying to get across to my clients and potential clients. In this day and age ... after (96 comments)
FREE Landlord Conference to be Hosted by the City of Joliet, IL - June 6th & June 7th. - 05/19/11 12:24 PM
FREE Landlord Conference to be hosted by The City of Joliet, IL June 6th and June 7th Because of the attractive prices of real estate properties in many areas, investing in real estate has once again been on the rise. Couple the lower prices of the properties with low mortgage interest rates and its easy to understand why that is so. If you go one step further and add the number of Americans projected to be renting in the future into the equation, the argument for entering the investment real estate market becomes even stronger. At least (6 comments)
During great parts of my day I find myself "dispensing" information. I literally visualize myself much like a pharmacist or doctor ... dispensing little pills of information, performing surgery to heal credit, suture finances, resuscitate mortgage processings, and deliver successful closings. I love sharing and dispensing that mortgage information to my clients and referral partners. No doubt about it. But as we all know, it isn't always easy to get patients to "take" their medicine. It's much the same with potential homebuyers many times. They KNOW they have a need for the information being made available. They UNDERSTAND that they should be (29 comments)
This is an enormously important piece of information! Please ... take the time to read the post in its entirety. Lenn Harley writes of big changes that may be coming to our industry, via short sales. However, it is MY fear ... that should we see these changes ... it will be only the tip of the iceberg. The big banks enjoying more power and pretty much being capable of writing their own rules regarding even more of their business and real estate itself is NOT good for consumers ... or the health and life of our industry members or the (8 comments)

Searching for Your New Home Alone? Really? Think That Over ... Pt. 2 - 05/13/11 11:07 AM
Searching for Your New Home Alone? Really? Think That Over ... Pt. 2 Are you presently contemplating ... or actively searching for a new home to buy? If so, you're not alone ... Are you thinking of "going it alone" ... without the aid and assistance offered by a real estate agent? In Part 1 of this blog, I addressed some of the reasons new homebuyers might think about tackling this venture on their own. Pursuing a home purchase alone is something a potential homebuyer might want to think long and hard about, especially if that decision (3 comments)
Searching For Your New Home Alone? Really? Think it Over ... Pt. 1 - 05/11/11 08:08 PM
Searching For Your New Home Alone? Really? Think it Over ... Pt. 1 Are you presently contemplating ... or actively seeking ... a new home to buy? If so, you are not alone ... An article offered on May 5th, 2011 on SmartMoney.com (written by Annamaria Andriotis) states that the above is indeed true. More Americans ARE presently out looking for homes to purchase. YOU are not alone in your housing search. But the article goes on to state that you may also be a portion of another growing statistic ... homebuyers actively searching for their new home (2 comments)
Taxes, Assessments, & Property Values. Some Timely Information for Property Owners. - 05/09/11 04:46 PM
Taxes, Assessments, & Property Values Some Timely Information for Property Owners It's "THAT" time of the year again. All across the collar counties of Chicago, property/home owners are receiving (or soon will be) their 2010 Property Tax Bills. Within these counties, 1st installments of these tax bills are due in June and the 2nd installment in September, as a rule. While the majority of the property/home owners with a mortgage have their property taxes paid directly out of Escrow Accounts held by their loan servicer, the "sting" of paying property taxes still exists. I can tell (20 comments)
Mother's Day is this next Sunday (May 8th, 2011), so I want to take this time to mention my own mom, Ruth Mundt, and to publicly thank her for all she's meant to me throughout my life, done for me above and beyond, and continues to so lovingly offer and be to this day. She's loved beyond measure. The Mundt family is gathering together to celebrate our Mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother this coming Sunday. Have you made your plans yet? There are many opportunities all over Chicagoland for families to celebrate the mothers in their lives in a wide variety (0 comments)
