The Politically Incorrect Christmas - 12/23/09 01:58 PM
There is a lot of guilt in our culture about Christmas excess, both from the secular side and the religious side. I understand that our thoughts should not be focused on personal pleasure, we need to be mindfull of the Reason for the Season, and take care of those in need. But my wife and I always celebrate Christmas to the full extent of our ability and our kids will be spoiled. Now most celebration is not about money. You can put out a real nice spread fairly cheap for a Christmas Dinner. It is the attitude you bring to it.

Moving Past Christmas Pain! - 12/23/09 01:24 PM
I love Christmas but also know it can be a painful time for some. I have had my own share of pain associated with Christmas: When I was young my mother became ill shortly after Christmas and died. She left behind me at 5 and my brother 3 and sister 2. My dad was never the same. My grandmother refused to celebrate Christmas for years. For years this hurt me, and not just around Christmas. It effects you growing up in ways you cannot imagine unless you have been there. As an adult there were many times I spent Christmas alone.

Merry Christmas New and Old Traditions - 12/23/09 01:00 PM
I love Christmas and I love Tradition. I do not break routine easy. Here are some things that just stay the same: Presents are opened on Christmas Morning. The stockings are opened in the morning before the ones under the tree. I start decorating the house on Thanksgiving weekend (or shortly there after). There is an Orange or Tangerine in the toe of each stocking on Christmas Morning. Cookies and Milk are always left out for Santa. A carrot for the raindeer. (As an aside here I have speculated Santa might prefer Hot Wings and Beer but this has not caught

History of Oakley California - 12/21/09 04:27 PM
History of Oakley Oakley was first settled in 1897 by R.C. Marsh in the area east of Antioch, CA and north of Brentwood CA. In 1898 March was named the first Post Master. Settler's came to the area, but many people ridiculed the area as "Sand Lappers" due to the sandy soil. It was felt nothing could grow in the area. The critics were proved wrong as the area developed a strong agricultural reputation with abundant growth of fruits and vegetables. In the 1950's Oakley was the leading grower of almonds in California and still has an annual Almond Festival. With

Via Dean Moss - Dean's Team Chicago IL Real Estate Team (Dean's Team - Keller Williams Lincoln Square Chicago IL): Whether you are a Home Buyer, Distressed Home Seller, or Real Estate Practitioner, if you have been exposed to the Short Sale Process, you know it is often fraught with confusion, frustration, and lengthy time delays. Selling a Luxury Home - Part 2 - A State of Mind In Selling a Luxury Home - Part 1 - Defined I went over some of the things that defined a Luxury Home. One of the biggest issues with Luxury Homes is State of Mind. People that are shopping for a Luxury Home are looking for Status, Maybe Uniqueness, and well Luxury. A big part of Selling a Luxury Home, or Elevating a Home to Luxury Status is Presentation or Having a Luxury State of Mind. I want to use some examples from our celebrity culture. Even if we do
