Lately in Royal Rangers we have been teaching knots and working on Lashings. It is a real challenge for some of the boys. But I think learning to tie knots is worth while.

I am going to share my sad story with you – that could have been a lot worse.
I shared a very public battle to loose weight here on AR. I lost 65 pounds – then in classic fashion put on 75. I was depressed and desperate and I thought I would consult with my doctor. It is not time for my usual physical so he did not give me a full work up.

Favorite TV Dad's - # 2 in a series – Hank Hill
I am setting here thinking what can I say about choice number 2 that I did not say about choice # 1. Hank Hill from “King of the Hill” is another All American type guy.
Hank loves sports, beer, things mechanical, his lawn, his dog, and is almost as devoted to his job of selling Propane and Propane accessories as he is to his wife Peggy.
He loves but is frustrated with his bumbling non-athletic chubby son who wants to go into acting or comedy.

In the new era of touchy feely self esteem building wimps it is nice to see a retro caveman like Red Forman on “That 70's Show.”
Red Forman is the Retro all American Male – Blue Collar Combat Veteran – dedicated if somewhat oblivious husband (forgot the wife's birthday – how they met – valentines day -etc). Loves a good beer, nice cars, football, fishing, and being left alone.

I love Baseball. I love to watch my boys plays play – right now Janson plays Pony League here in Brentwood Ca. I also like to watch pro ball. Oddly enough I am burnt out on Major League Baseball but like to go see the Stockton Ports play in the Class A California League. My son Weston Takes Karate at American Karate in Brentwood Ca. He has been taking lessons for about 6 months and just got his Blue Belt. I will tell you Karate has been one of the best things for my son. 
Why Karate?  My son has minor learning disabilities – he has a sensory processing disorder. So far he has not done well with other sports. (Surprisingly he did learn to ride a bicycle amazingly fast – but that is another story.) He lacked the eye – hand coordination for baseball. In wrestling he would … (3 comments)

It is standard business almost everywhere to request a copy of the deposit check. Now things may work different in different parts of the country, but this has to be a hold over from the good old days.

Recently we got a cat from the Contra Costa County Cat Support Network and they display and show the rescued animals at Petco in Brentwood.
We have started using them to get Pet Supplies. There are several reasons for this:
The first one being that they let a non – profit adopt out the cats in the store – and she is a wonderful cat.
They have a good stock of supplies at reasonable prices and gave us coupons and discounts when starting out with our new cat.
