leavenworth insurance: Flood Insurance - 04/07/10 04:01 PM

I received two helpful emails in my inbox today about flood insurance.
Darel Ansley at People’s Bank in Wenatchee writes:
If you are involved in any purchases requiring flood insurance, there are currently no policies being issued, and these transactions cannot close without flood insurance.
Luckily the second email was from my insurance agent: click through to my blog to read about flood insurance options in Washington state.

Here are some ideas about homeowners insurance from my friend (and insurance agent) Eric Kossian at Leavenworth Insurance.
Most standard home insurance policies provide little, if any, coverage for the following:
Unlimited dwelling replacement cost for your home. 20% of homeowners are underinsured after a total loss and had to pay the extra out of pocket; often many tens of thousands of dollars because the agent didn't estimate the replacement cost correctly.
