Another reason all buyers need an agent... - 10/30/06 12:17 AM
Friday I was out and about and decided to stop and talk to a FSBO..
I sas a cut little home in downtown Clarkston and decide to talk to the woman who was selling it by owner.  Very nice home, she put a lot of time and money into it and needs to sell it...quick.(funny she is trying it on her own) Anyway, as I was saying, I stopped and visited with her, and toured the home... then she proceeds to tell me her troubles.
When she bought the home it was for sale by owner...she liked it and thought she could … (7 comments)

I can't believe that this scam is still going on...and people are still falling for it - 10/25/06 11:40 PM
Have you ever heard stories of people being asked to assist people from foreign countries with money issues, they ask for your bank account number so they can deposit money into it and then get robbed blind?  Well someone is actually trying to do this on Active Rain...here is a copy of the message that was sent to me through this site...

The realtor diet has caught up with me (got recipes?) - 10/24/06 10:43 PM
Well it's official, I've gained 15lbs!!
Welcome to real estate they tell me... Office meetings with boxes of fluffy, sticky donuts...Title companies handing you candy bars every time you turn around, and don't forget the office cook... you know the one..  The sweet long time realtor that brings a full meal about once a week...I can't escape the calories.
Well as of today, it is going to stop... no more quick pass through the McDrive-thru between clients...no more creamy lattes on the way to the office... it's over... as of today my Partner and I are on a diet... Kind of a "biggest … (8 comments)

Is there a meth lab on this property? - 10/21/06 09:08 PM
Clandestine drug labs are super easy to set up.  A manufacturer of these deadly drugs can easily set up a site and tear it down and move it in hopes that nobody will catch him. They are found in homes, cars, motel rooms--just about anywhere.  But lucky for property owners, or unlucky however you want to look at it.. these guys are sloppy.  For the most part illegal drug manufacturers are usually users, and users get very lazy, and sloppy about their operation. A big red flag is a lot of extra garbage going out... and usually there are a lot of … (3 comments)

This home was a meth lab?? OMG, now what?? - 10/21/06 12:35 AM
With the popularity of methamphetamine rising and if you own rental property, you just may have to deal with the remnantsof a clandestine drug lab.  I attended a class this week where this was one of the topics. This topic isn't important to only landlords, but to realtors as well.  I want to share what I learned, even though most of the information will be with Idaho in mind, I think every Realtor will gain from it.
The chemicals that are used to manufacture meth will adhere to most everything.  Even with small amounts of contaminants in the carpet, walls, and on … (6 comments)

What a way to wrap up a great open house - 10/09/06 12:00 AM
Well, today was the day... I got up all excited ready to host my open houses.  I like open houses--some more than others, but I was excited to hold these because they were both new listings.  Well, the open houses went well, I may have even sold one...we'll see...
Anyway, here I go... getting ready to go home, with a smile on my face... I back out of the drive way only to be jarred by a "THUD"...."what the heck?? I look in my mirrors... nothing... hmmm..I open my door only to see that I backed right in to the telephone … (4 comments)

About Living In the Lewis Clark Valley - 10/05/06 06:51 PM
I have been a resident of the valley for over 30 years now.  Like a lot of people, I moved away, but came back a few years later.  When I drove into town after being away for 5 years, what I missed most was the smell...You see Lewiston has a unique smell.  Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad smell... but I could smell the river.  The Snake and Clearwater rivers have a special aroma that only smelling it yourself could you come to know what I mean.  Yeah, yeah, I know, all of you that has come through on … (2 comments)
