Pending home sales, a forward looking indicator, shows existing home sales may ease but should stay fairly close to present levels in the months ahead, according to The National Association of Realtors. The Pending Home Sales Index, based on contracts signed, rose in the Northeast in the month of May, 2007. After comparing local statistics for the 2nd Qtr. 2007 with the same period of 2006, I am pleased to report that the average list price of homes in the Lake Region have decreased less than 1%; the average sold price has decreased less than 2% and houses sold at 94% of listed price. WOW . . . Recent statistics show the Sales Volume is the same as 2006. The only real negative is the number of days on the market - 255 days in 2007 vs. 198 days for 2006.
