Volunteer:  It's Not Always About Real Estate by Geraldine Santiago

Last week, I spent an afternoon with a Grade 3/4 class in Richmond, BC.  I was the 'art teacher' for the afternoon at Garden City Elementary where I helped some twenty-five students make an early Mother's Day surprise by drawing on canvas.  It was a success!!  I know it's rather early to be starting on Mother's Day projects, but it was something I wanted to do.  That is, I wanted  to share my passion, which is painting!

Our subject piece was a vase of flowers, but the students came up with their own variation on the theme. As you can see from the paintings below, the students were truly inspired!  

I love volunteering this way!  It's really not always about real estate!
