In his highly recommended book, Basic Economics, renowned economist, Dr. Thomas Sowell, recounts the following at the beginning of Chapter 12: 
A tourist in New York's Greenwich Village decided to have his portrait sketched by a sidewalk artist. He received a very fine sketch, for which he was charged $100.
"That's expensive," he said to the artist, "but I'll pay it because it is a great sketch. But, really, it took you only five minutes."
"Twenty years and five minutes," the artist replied.

utah: The Real Estate Roller Coaster - 09/22/08 04:33 PM
As a perennial kid, I always love a good roller coaster ride!  What a thrill to have your stomach do flip-flops and feel a bit of weightlessnss after passing the crest of that high hill, and then plummet toward the valley below!
Some of the greatest attributes of a roller coaster are:
The ride is relatively inexpensive It's great for some quick thrills with friends It doesn't last too long When the ride is over, you get your feet back on stable ground...and go get a snow-cone (though ice cream is my favorite!). While the traditional roller coaster is a great … (0 comments)

utah: St George Utah Marathon: Kudos & Vomit - 10/15/07 06:59 AM
Whew... It's finally over!  I speak of the St George Utah Marathon.
For those of you who have or are presently training to run a marathon, you know the feeling.  (Okay, I'll admit that to those extremely few-in-number who train for an Ironman Triathalon, a marathon is the easy part; but for the other 99.998% of the population, a marathon is a pretty arduous task.)
To give a little perspective, a marathon is a run of 26.2 miles.  We marathon runners share an individual and collective psychosis to even THINK of running this distance, much less to actually accomplish the same!  All I … (1 comments)
