wisdom: CRASH COURSE IN MANAGEMENT - HUMOR & WISDOM - 12/03/08 04:43 PM
 LESSON 1:
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.         The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.        When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor.       Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.'
After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.
The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.   When she gets to the bathroom, … (8 comments)

wisdom: DON'T MESS WITH A WOMAN! - HUMOR & WISDOM - 11/27/08 08:10 AM
"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
•·        If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
•·        If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
•·        If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
•·        If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
•·        She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

wisdom: WISDOM - 02/04/08 02:06 PM
I have never really been a "groupie" or an oggling fan; however, have always had a deep seated admiration for Audrey Hepburn...she carried herself with such unspoken dignity.
I received this poem in email today and it has been attributed to her; the sentiment makes me want to believe it is true...
Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked toshare her 'beauty tips.'          It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness...
For lovely eyes , seek out the good in people.        For a slim figure … (6 comments)

wisdom: MY NEW BABY BUMBLE BEE - 01/19/08 09:58 AM
Okay, I drove a top model Lexus for 3 years...went on to an S Type Jag for a year and a half, but am now the proud Mom of 40 MPG!!!!!  Check out this 6 on the floor little dynamo that buzzes down the streets like the other cars are standing still!

Aside from the phenominal gas mileage and great handling (and adorableness) once the license plates go vain and the door wraps are on...my marketing visibility should skyrocket!!!!
If you are not having fun...you aren't doing it right!

wisdom: BARGAIN HUNTING HAPPINESS? - 12/31/07 02:21 PM
"You can never get enough of what you don't need to make you happy."~ Eric Hoffer
ARE YOU A BARGAIN HUNTER?
When's the last time you went to shop at a store because they were advertising a big sale? Or pulled over to check out the offerings at a weekend yard sale? Or spent an hour browsing through listings on eBay?
We all love to get a bargain when we shop, but remember that value is determined not by what you pay but by what you get. Even if it's a bargain, how ultimately satisfying is your purchase?
It seems to have become second … (5 comments)

wisdom: DON'T GET LOST - 12/24/07 08:58 AM
"We need to learn to set our course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ship."~ General Omar Bradley
FEELING LOST?
Do you find yourself drifting on an ocean of indecision, misdirection, and unfulfilled aspirations? Feel like you're not getting as far along as your colleagues, or as far along as they say you should be? It's probably time to throw out your compass!
While it can be helpful to look to others for inspiration, don't make the mistake of believing that you can or even should try to achieve the same accomplishments. Using a map of your own making, … (3 comments)

wisdom: TORTOISE OR THE HARE? - 12/17/07 12:08 PM
"Despair is the price one pays for setting himself an impossible aim."~ Graham Greene
THE TORTOISE OR THE HARE?
Everything encourages you to reach high and focus your energy towards achieving your dreams. What happens when the dream eludes you, or you feel that you're not measuring up against the standards of your peers?
Sometimes we do set our sights too high, or expect to reach them in an unreasonably short period of time. Just as important as establishing a goal is to map out an intelligent route. It's not usually all Super Highway between where we are and where we want to … (5 comments)

wisdom: PERFECT GIFT - 12/15/07 05:50 PM
If you are like me, you are running around from store to store (bricks and morter or online) to find the perfect gift for each person in your life and some obligatory gifts for those who are not really in your life.
Today I did for the 7th year in a row something that did not cost me a penny...for people I did not know (and will probably never know), with no alterior motive, with no gift expected in return, with no compensation; it was a gift of time and joy.
Today, along with Brian Asher of my office (Santa Claus) I played … (5 comments)

wisdom: WHAT WILL MATTER WHEN IT'S OVER - 12/14/07 08:19 AM
I wish I could take credit for writing the following, but that would be unethical.  I will, however, take credit for thinking it, feeling it and always trying to live it.  I will also take credit for the gratitude I feel that it was expressed so eloquently and take credit for getting it in front of all of us.
WHAT WILL MATTER
Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel … (10 comments)

wisdom: COACHING: E + R = O - 12/10/07 03:58 PM
"Circumstances are the rulers of the weak;they are but the instruments of the wise."~ Samuel Lover
GIVE YOURSELF A HAND!
Success and failure - people love taking credit for their achievements, but often blame outside factors when they fail or fall short. We have the power to accomplish our objectives, but when we fail to use that power to our advantage, we tend to fall back on excuses. The trick is to stop making excuses and accept full responsibility for all of our actions and reactions.
Instead of wondering why something happened to you, start wondering how you could have reacted differently. Your … (4 comments)

wisdom: COACHING - SERVICE: WHAT DOES THAT WORD MEAN? - 12/09/07 05:13 PM
Here it is Sunday evening and I just realized there was a call that came in today on one of my properties that I had not responded to.  I usually return calls while the phone is still in the hands of the inquirer.  For me to wait as long as 3 hours (as in this case) gave me a stomach ache.
When Doreen answered the phone, not only did she not consider the call back late by industry standards, but was shocked I would call her on a Sunday evening!
Doreen apparently walks by my listed property every day.  She has a … (8 comments)

wisdom: YOUR SKIN WILL TURN PURPLE IF YOU DON'T SEND THIS ON TO 10 OTHER PEOPLE - 12/08/07 11:53 AM
I have always taken issue with those who believe everything they read in email and then forward it to everyone they know.
Reputations have been ruined, businesses hurt, and certainly mailboxes filled to the top with spam.  It is my hope that responsible folks check out the rumors at Snopes before sending out potentially damaging information.Just a word to the wise:
E-mail petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other municipality. To be acceptable, petitions musthave a signed signature and full address. OR Same with "prayer chains" -- be wary.Almost all e-mails that ask you to add your name and forward on … (11 comments)

wisdom: WISDON - GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK! - 12/03/07 08:26 AM
"Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance."~ Samuel Johnson
GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK!
How many times have you heard it? "Don't work harder, work smarter!" This modern cliche has almost become an annoyance - its meaning seems so obvious that we don't even pay attention to it anymore. But such simple sentiments often bear more consideration, especially since they become cliched because of their inherent truth.
You see, sometimes it really isn't how hard you try. Think back to high school: some students studied for hours for an exam and did poorly, while others studied a few notes and highlights … (9 comments)

wisdom: THANK YOU - 11/21/07 08:06 AM
I received an email this morning that included this wonderful message...totally appropriate for not only tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, but for every day, Days of Giving Thanks; I wanted to share it with everyone.
Two words which will change your life! There are two words that, when spoken, have the most unfathomable power to completely change your life. Two words which, when they pass your lips, will be the cause of bringing absolute joy and happiness to you. Two words that will create miracles in your life. Two words that will wipe out negativity. Two words that will bring you abundance in all … (3 comments)

wisdom: WISDOM - IMPROVING THE DAILY GRIND - 11/05/07 08:45 AM
"Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out."~ Anton Chekhov
IMPROVING THE DAILY GRIND!
Conventional Wisdom tells us that life's most traumatic moments provide opportunity for personal growth and discovery. More often, however, it's the mundane, everyday trials and tribulations that really push us to discover the scope of both our achievements and our patience.
We undervalue our daily functions, simply because we do them on such a regular basis. But consistently performing those "menial" jobs, and consistently performing them well, is the real gauge of accomplishment.
Just trying to prevent the boredom can be … (4 comments)

wisdom: WISDOM - TIME MANAGEMENT - 11/03/07 09:40 PM
The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and … (3 comments)
