Dottie Babcock, CCIM, CRB and our Chief Operating Officer for John R. Wood Realtors shares the following report for October 2008. The good news is that inventory is lower now than a year ago. The bad news is that inventory of single family homes and condominiums priced under $250,000 continues to increase, and is higher in 2008 than 2007. Since many foreclosures and short sales fall into this segment, it is likely that this will not change in the near term. NAPLES, FL 7 Aug 08 More tough news in the media about the sagging economy led by the real estate bust. Tallahassee reported that FL real estate declined $153 Billion from this time last year. Fortunately for single family homeowners in Naples, the market hit bottom earlier this year and is a slow, but definite recovery. The Sunshine MLS, our local real estate multiple listing service, continues to indicate approximately 30-45 new pending sales every day. That's a healthy recovery.
