Nicknamed “The Rose City,” Madison began as “Bottle Hill” in 1715 under colonial rule. In 1806, Chatham Township was formed to include the villages of the current Madison, Chatham, and Florham Park. Though I'm sure you are all watching the news and keeping up with what the changes that are taking place as it pertains to our economy and real estate, the National Association of Realtors has just emailed all us realtors with what boils down the essential pieces of legislation that affect home buying and home ownership.
The higher loan limits, the $8000 credit and lower interest rates can have significant impact on the real cost of housing, far exceeding the fairly low devaluation we've experienced in our areas.

And, locally, our real estate has remained quite strong relative to the economy and the rest of the state and the nation.
