When he was close enough to be heard above the waves, the man asked, “Child, why are you doing this? There must be thousands of starfish out here…what possible difference can you make?” The boy reached down, picked up a starfish and threw it as far as he could back into the sea. “Sure made a lot of difference to that one.” And he reached down to pick up another one.
