Conforming Loan Limits Drop in October June 23rd, 2011, 3:00 pm · If conforming loan limits drop in October, more than 30,000 families in California will have to deal with higher down payments and mortgage rates and tougher loan qualification rules, the California Association of Realtors said today.

Unless Congress steps in, the limit will drop to $625,500 from $729,950 for most places on Oct. 1. The limit establishes the maximum mortgage amount the Federal Housing Administration, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can buy or guarantee.

RISMEDIA, December 23, 2009—Existing home sales rose again in November 2009 as first-time buyers rushed to close sales before the original November 30 deadline for the recently extended and expanded tax credit, according to the National Association of Realtors®.
Existing home sales–including single-family, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops– rose 7.4% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.54 million units in November from 6.09 million in October, and are 44.1% higher than the 4.54 million-unit pace in November 2008. Current sales remain at the highest level since February 2007 when they hit 6.55 million.

RISMEDIA, October 26, 2009—Existing-home sales bounced back strongly in September with first-time buyers driving much of the activity, marking five gains in the past six months, according to the National Association of Realtors®.
