activerain: Albuquerque, NM Represented at RainCamp - 03/10/10 12:48 AM
Three Albuquerque, NM REALTORS attended RainCamp in Denver today as ActiveRainers turned out in full force for a day of technology tips and updates. It was fun to finally meet iseveral rainers in person.
Now if I can only use one tenth of all the great ideas I got for enhancing my work online, I'd be very happy. This post in no way reflects anything I learned. The day at RainCamp was well worth the effort. I only wish I could have cleared my calendar so as not to miss the last hour.

activerain: Active Rain Connects East and (South)west - 12/23/08 12:27 AM
While buying art from a local potter in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I mentioned blogging on Active Rain and was surprised at the knowledgeable response from the artist. Not only did she know of Active Rain, she had a best friend back in Baltimore, MD, who was a regular blogger on Active Rain. Did I know her friend? Of course I did! Not personally, but through our on-line exchanges on Active Rain -- information I  learned through her friend's posts and that she learned from personal interaction as a client of Margaret Rome.
I was so excited about this authentication of of six degrees of separation, only my non-stop, back-to-back engagements of … (15 comments)

In http://activerain.com/blogsview/68680/Greening-the-Desert,  I shared the efforts the New Mexico government is making to conserve water.  In the ensuing discussion over the past two days, with  Active Rain members from other states we had no disagreements on the need to conserve not only in New Mexico but in states as far away as Florida. We were less in agreement on how much curtailment of water use we could live with.
Today's New York Times, http://www.nytimes.com/pages/todayspaper/index.html  front-page article about the western states paints a grim picture of the entire … (12 comments)

activerain: ActiveRain More than A Blog Site - 02/03/07 11:48 AM

I had an epiphany this week. With the expanded service of two Internet sites that launched blogging for the real estate community, I couldn't help making some kind of evaluation of what the sites offer and how I was adjusting to the new reality of what is being offered. My conclusion:
ActiveRain is more than a place to blog. It is a community of industry professionals with whom I laugh, cry, learn and grow. I think it is the Internet site that comes closest to the fulfillment of the promise of the Internet to build community across all types of barriers. Here is the view I'm sharing with … (7 comments)
