quality of life: Next Generation Homebuyers - 11/06/09 02:34 AM
I spent last evening and the better part of today at a Summit for early childhood education in Santa Fe (invited in my capacity as  a business owner) . On the surface the summit seemed to have noting whatever to do with real estate, but in a profound way, it did. The New Mexico Summit on Early Childhood Investment brought together business and community leaders to create awareness and support for early childhood development. I saw this intervention as a benefit to the next generation of home buyers.
Research has shown that early investment in childhood developoment, produces healthy, educated productive adults. As a matter of fact, is is being seen as the best investment any … (7 comments)

quality of life: Paradise Hills - A Desirable Albuquerque Westside, New Mexico Destination - 09/03/08 06:55 PM
Looking for a Westside Albuquerque, New Mexico community in which to settle? Paradise Hills offers delightful spaces in Paradise East and Paradise West. Paradise West is virtually all new with ongoing construction in some areas. Paradise East includes vintage Paradise Hills (built about 40 years ago ) with mature gardens, each on .25 or more acre in the County of Bernalillo. Now, new … (5 comments)

In its early years the city expanded north and south along El Camino … (8 comments)

quality of life: What constitutes Quality of Life? - Green Awareness - 02/23/07 03:00 PM

In another post, I wrote about Mesa del Sol, the master planned, smart growth, wedge infill development just south of the Albuquerque, New Mexico airport. http://activerain.com/blogsview/47067/Want-to-settle-in. A reader commented that the description suggested the development could qualify as being green, that is, environmentally friendly and supporting quality of life. My description of the project, of course, is based on statements made by the developers in print marketing material and oral presentations.
Development of Mesa del Sol as a green community would be fitting use of the land since it is the last wedge of a circle of land left within the … (21 comments)
