I just returned from a week at the Keller Williams national convention. Yes, the training was great. Yes, I'm excited about the possibilities eEdge hold for us all. Yes, I'm miffed and confused at all the bellyaching going on about eEdge (amazing how many perfect people there are in the world with no tolerance for anything less than immediate perfection). But my biggest take-away had very little to do with real estate. I used to get caught up in the KW vs ReMax wars on ActiveRain. We used to blog spar about which company was the best. Is real estate your life?  Do you sign listings at 8pm, hold open houses every Sunday afternoon, jump in the car and rush to show a buyer your listings at the drop of a hat?  Is real estate your life, or do you have a life?  My intent isn't to offend, though I'm sure some will be offended.  I was reading a blog on our local newspaper forum, and a local real estate agent/broker posted this comment:
"Agents who turn OFF their phone on holidays and evenings will not last in coming years."

My goal is to promote the community of Gig Harbor.  I want people to get a good understanding of all the good that goes on here.  The link below is a recent news story featuring a Keller Williams agent from Tacoma, as well as the Gig Harbor Keller Williams' Operating Principal.  It's a great example of what community is.  In the interview, Mike Bastian makes a very profound statement that really grabbed me.  See if you can guess what statement I find the most profound.

I was reading two different posts on Active Rain last night, and they got me thinking.  One was a follow up post by an agent in California, letting people know that he appreciated all of their help in directing him to a brokerage.  He narrowed it down to ReMax and Keller Williams, ultimately choosing Keller Williams.  He stated all of his reasons why he chose KW, and then a pretty good dialogue of comments followed.The second posting was from an agent near Seattle, WA, announcing that she had officially moved to ReMax.  Again, a nice dialogue of comment followed with all … (0 comments)
