Anna Kournikova and the St. Louis Aces

I have always enjoyed professional sporting events.  Often, it is the minor leagues that provide the greatest entertainment for me.  So, when World Team Tennis and the St. Louis Aces are in town, I always try to see a match or two.  It isn't that I am a great fan of professional tennis.  I simply enjoy the great family friendly format offered by World Team Tennis.  It mixes high energy crowds, rising and fading tennis stars, and family friendly pre-game and half-time events ranging from networking events to tennis instruction to t-shirts … (4 comments)

events: St. Louis Dog Parks - All-Star Game Marketing, The New Busch Stadium, and Dog Gone Good Fun - 07/09/09 08:15 PM

Well, this week St. Louis plays host to the 2009 MLB All-Star Game.  The game will start with the momentous words "Let's Play Ball."  Now, for baseball fans, these words signal the start of the game and precede the first pitch.  However, for our furry friends, these words mean something entirely different to our furry friends.
Nestle Purina (formerly Ralston Purina) headquartered in the Near Southside neighborhood sandwiched between Lafayette Square, Soulard, LaSalle Park, and Downtown St. Louis was quick to recognize the importance of these words - as well as a marketing opportunity.  So Nestle Purina prominently displayed an 8-story tall … (12 comments)

events: Fireworks Photography - How to Take Photographs that Capture those Great Bursts of Light and Color - 07/02/09 09:05 PM
Everyone loves a fireworks show. In fact, so much that many people will attempt to capture the explosions with a great photograph. However, it is easier than it sounds. Here are six tips from the experts:
Find a Great Location. Before you take you photograph, pick the perfect spot. Be aware of wind conditions. Smoke could drift towards you and make taking the picture difficult. Frame your Photograph. Before you take the photograph frame the photograph by using tree, buildings, or water in the foreground to give your photograph more depth. The photograph should include a wide view of the sky … (8 comments)

events: The ActiveRain Open - Learning from the Pros - Golf, Life and Real Estate Sales - 06/14/09 03:49 AM

Recently, I had the opportunity to play golf with Activerainers Don Rogers and Michelle Silies.  It was a scramble golf event to raise money for the O'Fallon Tomahawks, a local youth sports organization.  It was a great event organized by Bob Craddick, general counsel with Reliant Care Management, and held at the Tamarack Golf Club in O'Fallon, Illinois.
So, we loaded up the carts and hit the links.  Although we didn't get all 18 holes in because of rain, I did get my money's worth with my teamates sharing their wisdom on life, golf and real estate throughout the event.

events: The Lafayette Square Arts Council Presents MOVIES IN THE PARK (St. Louis, Missouri - Lafayette Square) - 05/18/09 01:05 AM

When I was growing up, movie night was an event on Saturday night to invite friends over to the house to watch those horribly fun B-horror movies.  Later, as a teenager, movie night was replaced by the drive-in.  Well, I have grown up and movie night and drive-ins are sadly gone  Or, are they?
Imagine a place where you can invite your 100 closet friends and watch a movie without having to clean up the house before and after the big event - except to carry your trash out.  Well, it may be better than that...  How about a great … (5 comments)
