We all know that familiarity is said to breed contempt, but what do you do when the appraiser seems to be applying this principal to an appraisal for your client? This is exactly what appears to have happened recently, when helping my client secure a loan on a purchase transaction. Of course, because of the idiotic HVCC (Home Value Code of Conduct) regulations, I couldn't speak with the appraiser directly, but the owner of the HVCC compliant company assured me that he had sent a local professional, who lived "very close" to the property. Yes, I'm talking about the dreaded 91 Eastbound, Riverside freeway in Southern California. Just the mere mention of this freeway strikes fear into the hearts of many and makes others break out in a cold sweat : )
It was just announced that the 91 Eastbound to 71 Northbound interchange will be closed for a whole 15 days, beginning on Saturday, October 9th, 2010, and will reopen on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010!!
