first time arizona homewoners: HOUSING PRICES ON THE RISE - 07/27/10 07:00 PM
There is encouraging news for homeowners in the Phoenix market.  Home Prices are gradually rising in certain areas.   
For the first time since the recession began-in April, 2010 the overall market showed a year-over-year increase, with the average home price increasing by .07% during that month.  It is estimated that the increase from June 2009 to June 2010 is 1.8%.
In April, 2010 the overall median price for a single family home located in the Phoenix area reached $135,000.00 and still remains stable at $133,000.00.  Last September, the median price was $130,000.00 and has remained within $5,000.00 of that price.

first time arizona homewoners: First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Extension Would Help Arizona Real Estate Sales - 10/13/09 02:12 PM
There has been a push in the House to get the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit extended, as well as expanded.  Last week the House passed a bill extending the $8,000 tax credit into next year for military, diplomatic, and intelligence workers who have been working overseas. 
This bill's passage leaves many future first time Arizona homeowners hopeful that an extension for regular first time Arizona home buyers will pass as well.  Much of the increase of Arizona's real estate sales has been attributed to the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit.
