More Foreclosures to come by the MILLIONS - 10/27/09 04:07 PM
The other night I was chatting about real estate with a close friend of mine, who also happens to be an appraiser. We got to talking about what we think will happen in the near future with the foreclosure ratings and I started to grow a little concerned. Previous to talking with my appraiser friend, I had heard rumors about MANY, MANY more foreclosures that are projected to come to the surface. It was not until I came across multiple articles posted by RISMedia that I started believing those rumors and began to prepare for the next wave of distressed properties...

Help me choose a new AR picture please..! - 10/26/09 12:26 AM
Okay, so I had new pictures taken recently because I got sick of the old ones and I thought I would freshen up my look a little bit. A great friend of mine took some beautiful photo's of me and now I'm stuck on which picture I like best..! I've narrowed it down to the three below:
1. Classic B&W (current AR picture)

2. Full on Color

3. Indoors, but with a little greenery in the background still

Which one do you think??

Some Halloween Office Fun - No booing here! - 10/15/09 08:33 AM
While working in the office a few days ago, an affiliate of mine and I came up with a creative idea for adults to get in on the Halloween action. Instead of ringing doorbells in your neighborhood and leaving "Boo Bags" filled with treats and goodies, we came up with the idea to leave "Brewed Bags" that would contain wine for the adults! Who says you can't get a little creative and have a little fun when your working?

Time to prepare for a cold winter - burr! - 10/12/09 08:07 PM
Okay so I woke up this morning and the temperature gauge read 42 degrees. Brr!! Winter is definitely on it's way! With the heat cranking this fall already, it becomes very apparent in differences that insulation upgrades like double pained windows and blown in blanket (BIB) insulation make.
As the market turns and the economy continues to recover from one of the longest recessions in history, homeowners are looking to live in a home for a longer period of time. This supports the statement that energy efficient and quality materials are more important now than ever.
After the past few years, … (4 comments)

Are Sellers Seeking Buyers or are Buyers Seeking Sellers? - 10/06/09 09:56 AM
Okay so has anyone else been running into fierce multiple offer situation with clients? I know I have with a few of my clients most recently and it's hard to get buyers sometimes on the same page. Yes, it is a buyers market over all, but it all depends where you are looking and in what price range. I have especially found in the under $350,000 range, buyers are stepping into multiple offer situations with almost every seller.
In fact, RIS Media reported on October 3rd that pending home sales nationwide have continued to rise 6.4% in August 2009 alone which … (9 comments)

Education First? - 10/05/09 09:25 PM
There are many factors that influence the buying decision of a home. but there seems to be a lot of support for schools and school districts to have a substantial impact on the appreciation and price of a home. Even if you do not have a family of your own, it may pay off to do some research on the local school districts in the area you are looking to purchase a home. Some agents and local experts estimate that school districts can influence the price of a home by even $50,000- $100,000! As I said before, there have been many … (5 comments)
