My iPad is winning out over my iPhone, my iPhone had nearly replaced my laptop. I absolutely love love love both my iPhone and iPad. I can't imagine my life without either of these most treasured loved & adored life savers. I haven't used a desktop for years. I obviously still need my laptop. However, the majority of my needs checking email etc can be done on my iPad. I had been using my iPhone for searches, research, email but my old lady eyes where paying a price.

Not to mention, how awesome the iPad is when working with clients. It's so easy to use even while out to dinner with clients to show homes, research etc. My iPad had paid for itself within one hour of owning it. To me that's an awesome return on investment. My thanks to my hip and cool friend Jennifer who is always steps ahead of me and pulling me along kicking and screaming as I'm not an early adapter of new technology. Ok, I don't even have a debit card... I still use paper checks!

If you're reading this blog and you aren't using iPhone, or iPad you must GO now and get one. Life changing. My only wish.. I  wish I could talk on my iPad! I like to streamline and keep it simple. I just know we could they just want us to have both a phone and pad. Mr. Steve Jobs you're beyond genius. Cancer might have taken your body but you will live forever.

Don't get me wrong I love my iPad and I am sure I will love it more and more as I use it more.  I do believe that in given time, the iPad will replace laptop and the digital camera. 

But I can see right now ( and I just purchased my iPad a little over 30 days ago), that I still need my laptop and /or desktop.  Desktop is more for at home and the ease of use when at home.

  • I love the ease of my keyboard
  • iPad using one hand to hold it (most of the time is not comfortable) as my pc/laptop
  • I have the fear of breaking it (all that glass)
  • putting my arms around all the apps I have already installed - well lets say I have to spend more time remembering who apps I have and what they do.
  • It is true it is a perfect day-to-day companion
  • I take it everywhere with me
  • I can see where it has already taken over my digital camera

 

Although I have not plunged into video (either making or editing them) which is one reason I hear everyone say they still need a laptop - I have not been able to let go of my laptop and when I am home - my desktop.  From what I hear video is a bit of a challenge with the iPad, but then someone told me about iMovie (next to check out).

One thing I do agree is that - it’s the most important “must have” for real estate agents since the digital camera.

And give iPad some time; it will likely replace both of those soon, too!  Still allot to learn about the iPad.
