About 20 miles from College Station down hwy 60 also known as the Texas Brazos Trail is a small town known as Somerville Texas. Sommerville is best known for Lake Somerville which strecthes out about 11,630 acres with a 85 mile shoreline. Construction on Lake Sommerville began in 1962 and was filled with water in 1967. The state park opend up to the public in 1970. The parks at Lake Somerville offer camping, boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, picnicing. There are also nature trails for hiking, biking, and horse back riding. Here are some site with maps of the parks.

I have found that so many people talk about the obvious reasons living in the Brazos Valley, but have left out numerous other reasons why this is a great place to live and even invest in your future. We all know about Texas A&M university and even our great golf courses and our Growing "State of the art" Health Care Systems but what about our Growing Community but the Small town feel.
