Rub and Buff Mirror Results...the AFTER SHOT - 02/28/10 07:22 PM

Here is the "rub and buff" mirror that I blogged about a couple of weeks ago, now installed.  For $99 this mirror made a big difference in this bath.

There were other changes as well, new flooring, new over-the-mirror lighting, fresh paint but I think that the mirror is the most dramatic change.
Here is a link to the original blog post about the Rub and Buff Product.

Discover Idle Hour Winery, Oakhurst, California
Mid-February every year the wineries in Madera County, California sponsor a Wine Trail/Tour.
This year the Sierra Lion's Club members joined with two of the wineries and sold yummy chocolate dipped treats.

The Idle Hour Winery is located on the Fresno river above the Queen's Inn in Oakhurst.  Owners, Deb and Anna will make you feel welcome and treat you to some great tasting. Check their website for the hours.

Next year, for Valentine's Day weekend, consider coming to our beautiful mountain area,                   then stop in and visit our local businesses.

BUCKET LIST, weekend get-away! - 02/22/10 04:55 PM
Bucket list, weekend get-away.
Hop onto the SNOW TRAIN out of Sacramento and travel to RENO for the weekend.
We departed at 11:30 am on Friday and we were back in Sac. on Sunday at 3:30 pm.  Here are a few photos from the journey.

The above photo was taken while on the train just west of Reno, hence the name SNOW TRAIN!          That's the Truckee River with Northstar Ski Resort in the background.
Below: On Saturday we rented a 4WD vehicle and saw old hang outs.

Lake Tahoe from the Incline Village lookout, just above our former home.

Recycling candles

Unfortunately I'm not always careful when I pack them for a job or when destaging so they rub against colors candles and become marred, then I'm unhappy.  Also the white ones tend to discolor over time.

What to do?  Since we don't burn candles, when used in staging, we could recycle and make new candles but that is a time consuming practice.
So I paint them.  Here is an example that I just completed for a house … (28 comments)

How are YOU Handling Sellers Who Want You To Over-price Their Homes? - 02/03/10 09:58 AM
Paula says it right.  As a professional, realtors are the sellers expert and need to perform accordingly.

Via Paula Hathaway (Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate):
How are you handling sellers who want you to over-price their homes? It may seem that the owner who insists on a couple of hundred thousand more in their asking price should be accomodated, especially if you are not the only broker on the hunt. But pricing properties properly should be priority #1

As we all know, if a seller wants to sell their property sooner rather than later, you are really doing them no favor if you are … (2 comments)
