Will your craft make Buyers want your house? You might be surprised at what our Oakhurst Home Staging Company would suggest. The lovely lady/seller of this house was a serious crafter. One full bedroom of her three bedroom house was solely for her craft. For "dwelling" and her enjoyment, what a wonderful space. But for selling, not so much.
Since this space was originally intented to be a bedroom, but the sellers didn't have an extra bed and they didn't want to rent our inventory, our suggestion was to pack up the room and simplify it as much as possible. Here are the results:

Agents, would you ask your clients to do this? When the sellers of this house called our Oakhurst California home staging company to help make this house more market friendly, we gave these clients a long to-do list and this closet was on that list.
To some people this space says, "Oh how handy or what a smart idea." To others it says, "Mauve, oh great we would have to paint and where's the closet?" I can imagine that if I'd ever won one of these prestigious golden statues, I too would want to show it off, but........ During a staging consultation this gleaming, gold honor was proudly displayed in a specially created niche, with lighting and presence in the room. It had become the focal point of the living area in this house and the seller (award recipient) was shocked when I suggested that his prized trophy be packed away in preparation for getting his house on the market. We recently made a day trip to this glorious location. From Central California it's about a 3.5 hour trip. Located off of Highway 49, out of Jackson or Sutter Creek, CA., in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
