The Sierra Lions Club of Oakhurst is once again preparing a great Haunted House for you, your family and friends to experience on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 30th and 31st, from 7-10 pm.
Tickets are just $10 per person when purchased in advance. Advance purchases are available at Oakhurst Feed and Pet Supply in the Enterprise Center. Tickets at the door are $11 per person.
If you have attended our spooktacular event in the past, this year will be a completely new and interesting experience.

The time is drawing near for the annual Chocolate and Wine Festival in Oakhurst, October 9 & 10. The location is the Oakhurst park. There will be many vendors and exhibitors present to tempt your taste buds.

Have you heard about the use of Wasp Spray as a deterrent to human assailants, animals (rattlesnakes and skunks for me) and more.
It is suppose to shoot from 20-30 feet and temporarily blind a human until they can get medical care and you can escape to safety.
I have used this product on wasps and not found it to be very effective but I'm seriously thinking about buying some to carry with me on jobs and have readily available at my house.

New back-splash finally!
When we had the granite installed (replacing builder's laminate) in our kitchen, I knew that eventually I would put in a back-splash but I also knew that project might be "in the future".
Fast forward 5 years and it's finally done and I'm so happy. It involved A LOT of tile cutting because we installed in on the diagonal and my original design was tweaked a bit, but every time that I pass through the kitchen it brings a smile to my face.

Here's another that has built in clues: If you don't see the clues show it to the man of the house.
Supposedly the owner's wife did much of the designing of this SPACE.

Friday, Dream Interior Redesign and Staging got a call from a REA that wanted a consultation on her new listing. Fantastic, I will await the call from the seller.
Immediately the seller called. She explained that their family home had been listed with another agent for six months and they we so outraged with his lack of marketing and MORE, that they had to change listing agents. This smart daughter helped her dad interview 3 agents. Wine and Chocolate Festival.
It's Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11 from 10am to 5 pm.
Besides great chocolate treats and different varieties of wine to sample, many local restaurants are also preparing delicious taste treats.

Years ago designer Christopher Lowell coined this term and I've found it very useful. Design and staging clients, seem to like it, understand it and will often implement it.
"CROSS POLLINIZATION" basically means to use color, design & style elements repeatedly throughout a room and a home to make it feel pulled-together and to help keep the eye moving throughout the space.
I particularly like to use this terminology when teaching clients and classes about COLOR. With a whole-house color palette of 3-4 colors cross pollinating means that those colors are repeated in any one room and in other rooms.

Most Californians are accustomed to our "golden" landscapes from lack of precipitation. BUT when it's green, WOW it's gorgeous. Right now is the perfect time to take a drive and see the green fields, hills and mountain sides.
Take a drive up Highway 41, headed north out of Fresno and discover the beauty that our area holds.
Notice the snowcapped peaks in the background
Drive through farm lands, vineyards, pasture lands, rolling hills, and then into the Sierra Mountain Range.
