Potential...... Does it sell a house in today's real estate market? In my opinion is does not, but I'm looking for other opinions, in agreement or not. When I started flipping houses over 35 years ago, determining the "potential" of a house was a one of the most important parts of the buying process. As flippers/real estate investors we usually bought fixer uppers, but not if they were without "potential". Here is an example of what I'm seeing today. When is a door not just a door? Much has been written on AR about the impact of the exterior front door on homes. I don't have much to add to that discussion regarding the power that a front door and the entry way can have in setting the tone for potential buyers. However, I do want to share a technique that this home seller used. When I suggested that their white door needed painting and not just a fresher coat of white, the seller winced.
