Many of you have experienced and lived with these lighting fixtures.
For some reason contractors in our area still think that these albatross fixtures are still ok in kitchens and baths. I know of three spec. builders that persist in putting these into their new builds and that is just crazy in today's lighting market. In the shop or garage, OK but in the house, PLEASE they need to be updated.

Here's a great mountain home for year round living or to escape the fog or heat of the California Central Valley. Located just north of Oakhurst off historic Highway 49, this is the builder's Dream home so it is jam packed with special features.
The realtor called Dream Interior Redesign & Staging to give this house more pizazz and add some life. It was almost fully furnished but it had no accessories, no artwork, no pops of color, no drama and no sparkle. There were no details and they was no warmth.
