Then out into the yard to watch the childern climb trees and stack wood for this winter.

sunday dinner: Sunday Dinner - 09/13/09 03:44 PM
Another Great Sunday time with the family.
After going to church with our two youngest grandchildren, we came home to cook London Broil out on the grill.    Our son in law, lit the fire and proceeded with the marinated London Broil, eggplant and Onions.
Meanwhile, the grandsons helped me to fix the salad, make the thousand Island dressing, whip up a peach cobler, butter the bread for coonking and finish the tea.  All with the help of 4 tiny hands and mine.
It was absolutely glorious....
Fun time had by all.

Hope you were so blessed..

sunday dinner: Sunday~A Family Day After Church - 06/21/09 04:29 PM
Sunday is a very special day around here.  It is a day that we are able to have our family around us.
First thing I do on Sunday morning is to get up and start preparing our Sunday Dinner. Today was Roast beef, Corn, Butter beans,  Stewed Apples, homemade biscuits, and fresh blueberry cobbles (from our blueberries that a grandson, Jonah and I picked yesterday afternoon. The berries were very ripe and about the size of large marbles.
My recipe for Blueberry Cobbler is:
Melt 1 stick of butter  in a 8x8 dish
Put 1 cup of berries in the butter

sunday dinner: It's Another Mon--day---! in Southport~Oak Island NC - 03/16/09 11:10 AM
And Rainy!
But what a wonderful weekend.  It is such fun to have all of the family over for a Sunday Dinner.  Yesterday, we had country style barbecue ribs, with Butter beans, peas, corn, stewed potatoes, spiced apples, cornbread and tea.....Chocolate cake for dessert!  It was delightful with children ranging from 9 months to 3 1/2 years old.
These are the days that memories are made with.  After dinner, we went walking with the 3 1/2 year old to discover lions and monkeys in the woods in front of the house.  Oh... to be young again with such imaginations.
