December is almost upon us, and as the songs says "oh the weather outside is frightful"~~ wait a minute!!  Not in Coastal NC~ it's delightful~ Well it's obvious that songwriter never had the pleasure of celebrating holiday time in Wilmington NC!
 
Gorgeous "Carolina Blue" skies, warm sunshine and crisp night breezes will be the perfect background for this weekend holiday festivities on Wrightsville Beach.  One of the highlights of the season is the North Carolina Holiday Flotilla Weekend at which this year celebrates its silver anniversary!

Looking for a fun way for the whole family to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and show your support a wonderful cause?  Come out to Kiwanis Park tomorrow morning to watch the Kiwanis Park First Inaugural Turkey Trot Run & Kids Sprint.
 
 
The race will start and end at Kiwanis Park and wind through Belvedere Plantation and over Country Club Road. There will be prizes awarded by age groups for each race.

Hampstead, North Carolina is one of the fastest growing areas in the state. It's a popularity as a relocation destination  stems from it's desirable location close to Topsail Island Beaches, area Golf Courses, access to the Intracoastal Waterway, and the award winning Topsail School District. 

 
Hampstead was once a small fishing village and a whistle stop along side the Atlantic Coast Line RR.  Legend says that Hampstead got its name from a story from one of George Washington's  many trip's along the King's Highway.  He had planned to feast on the delicious local mullet caught in the Topsail sound.
