One of the criteria important to us when we were considering our relocation destination was finding a location with cultural vibrancy, charm and ambiance, & a town that offered a variety of fun activities, to spend a day or evening.
We first discovered discovered Wilmington on the internet & were instantly attracted as we read about it's riverfront location, historic homes, cobblestone streets, quaint shops, art galleries, theaters, music locales, fine restaurants and beautiful area beaches. The more we learned about Wilmington, the more we fell in love, from a distance.

We celebrated the official end of summer this week..not in Wilmington. Our endless summer lives on with two dynamite concerts to end a beautiful week!
Catch a fabulous Jazz concert tonight as the"Riverside 8″ with Laura MacFayden on vocals perform at Airlie Gardens. Remember parking is limited so get there early or catch the trolley at the Galleria parking lot ( the old Harris Teeter) on Wrightsvile Ave for a short ride to the Gardens. What a fantastic summer week in The Wilmington area. Bright and sunny days gave us some fabulous beach weather an a couple of thunderstorms gave us some much needed rain. It's hard to believe it's just a month to labor say. The good thing about our climate is taht our free frisay nights concerts and other outdoor festivities linger on past the usually labor day hush!
