The amount of weeks rented is on par with past years, it is the income they produce that has been compromised. Is it the bad economy, maybe, but I think the largest factor in this dilemma is that some of the owners of these properties, many who live out of state, who do not use a licensed REALTOR as a property rental manager and rent their properties at a reduced rate. Short Sales have replaced the traditional way of selling homes in these economic times. I know all of you have heard horror stories that they take so much time and energy usually with poor results. They can be a nightmare and definitely the name short sale doesn’t have anything to do with the time it takes to complete the sale and bring it to closing, if the buyer doesn’t walk by this time.
