Lower Your Home Energy Bill and Get a Tax Credit!With it being tax season, I wanted to pass along a great tax credit for homeowners. By making cost effective, energy efficient home improvements, you can qualify for a tax credit of $1500. Here are the requirements and rules:
1.    You must make the improvements in 2009 and/or 2010 for the tax credit.
2.    The tax credit is 30% of the cost of the improvements or up to $1500.
3.    It is a one time tax credit and can be claimed on 2009 or 2010, or partly on each year's tax return.

First Time Home Buyer/ Move Up Buyer Tax Credit Deadline and Details - 02/01/10 03:51 PM

As part of its plan to stimulate the U.S. housing market and address the economic challenges facing our nation, Congress has passed new legislation that:
Extends the First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of up to $8,000 to first-time home buyers until April 30, 2010.  This means that you must have a fully executed contract signed by all parties in effect no later than April 30, 2010.
