In order to find a tourism advertising campaign for Louisiana, a bill has been introduced into the state legislature, removing the cap on the amount of funds used for tourism promotion from the sales and use tax.  The Advocate reports on this move:
The increased revenue will allow the department to dedicate funds to a national advertising campaign and change the perception across the country that Louisiana remains severely damaged from hurricanes Katrina and Rita, said Ange'le Davis, secretary of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
