Keeping Your Main Thing the Main Thing... - 02/05/10 02:17 PM

2003 was a tough year for me. Towards the end of 2002 I left a well-paying job in another line of work because I didn't like the direction the company was heading. The owner / founder had sold the business and I could tell the new owners "didn't get" what made the company special and came in with an attitude that they knew better. They were following the "Golden Rule" of "He who has the gold makes the rules" so this was their right. If you recognize the title of this blog as a quote from "Groundhog Day", you are my kind of people.
In 1993, comedian Bill Murray starred in the movie "Groundhog Day" about a TV Weatherman caught in a never ending Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney, PA. For years, this big shot, big city celebrity has been assigned to cover this annual ritual in this po-dunk, back-woods town, and he dreads it - no, he loathes it - er, well, there is really nothing he hates more than this assignment.
