real estate business: You Can Test Drive a Car ... But Not A House! - 01/15/12 12:11 AM
The last couple of weekends have included a few hours helping our son decide what car to buy. We’ve been to this dealer and that, had him prequalified … and have driven a number of cars. Usually with the all-chatty salesman in the backseat, telling us exactly why this car is THE one to buy. We’ve driven some brand new cars and are now taking a look at a few that a just a couple of years old (Mom insisting that maybe the payment will be a bit easier on his monthly budget.) real estate business: It’s Friday Night … and Real Estate Goes On and On - 01/14/12 01:03 AM
This is a never-ending business. We work until all hours of the night and yet most agents I know feel so blessed to be working the way we do. This evening, after a long day at the computer, punctuated by breaks to play ball with the dogs, I met with a new client and helped him begin to dial in to the area and home to which he’d like to relocate his family. (What other business lets you take a break to play with the dogs?) Then home to a glass of wine, a bowl of popcorn, and a bit more

Truly! Snow is coming! The world will come to an end in Auburn in three days! At least so say the weather stations. The greater Puget Sound metropolitan area is a unique place when it snows. We’re hilly around here and our typical warm ocean breezes prevent us from getting much in the way of significant snowfall, which means most of the cities and towns in our area have a minimal amount of snow equipment to deal with the mess. We don’t dump a lot of sand or salt on the roads. Some … but not a lot. Oh sure,

real estate business: Time to Be Thankful! - 11/18/11 04:53 PM
Thanksgiving is almost here .. almost! Just a few days away. In our family, that means the kids come to our home with grandchildren in tow (“I’m” the grandma now), with special treats tucked in baskets, games to play and visiting to be done. We’ll spend 2-3 days chasing the little ones around while they decide that "gramma" and "grampa" live on a farm (NOT), have lots of good hot cocoa and whipped cream, hugs, and stories. They’ll likely ride the “tractor,” (read that as the riding lawnmower), chase the dogs, pick up the eggs from the chickens, feed the
