Prayer for the Day - December 26, 2011 - 12/26/11 08:51 AM
Dear God, please fill every heart with your peace and the hope you have given us through your son--our Savior--Jesus Christ. I pray that you will lift the spirits of every person praying this prayer; that they will experience your joy and feel the warmth of your presence. Father, thank you for the gift of salvation through Jesus and the comfort of the Holy Spirit you sent to seal and guide us. Thank you for your Word, the Word who is the true Light..."And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as (6 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 24, 2011 - 12/24/11 11:53 AM
Dear God, This morning the Holy Spirit brought to mind my pastor. He faces so many decisions and burdens that I know nothing about. He has such great responsibilities and weighty decisions. He has personal family to care for as well as church family to shepherd. I pray that as he comes to you today...and every day...that you will refresh his spirit, enlighten his mind, and strengthen his body. I pray that you will grant him wisdom, anointing, and openness to receive the message you want to deliver through him and to deliver that message when and to whom you want (2 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 23, 2011 - 12/23/11 09:20 AM
Dear God, This is such a busy time of year. People are traveling, finishing up year-end business records and reports, visiting friends and family, celebrating Christmas and the New Year. I pray that during this time of preparation and cheer, You will cover us with a blanket of protection. I pray that you will grant safe travels to those who are driving, riding, flying around their neighborhoods, across the country, and throughout the world. I pray that you will give peace, comfort, and joy to all who are your children and fill our hearts with praise and rejoicing in the spirit (6 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 22, 2011 - 12/22/11 09:50 AM
God, Your Word tells us to love our enemies, to pray for those who spite or persecute us. That's quite a "tall order" for a human, but through the enabling of your Holy Spirit, I can do it. Please remind me to pray instead of complain, to pray instead of get angry, to pray instead of feel sorry for myself. I pray for all the people I have relationships with in my family, neighborhood, workplace, church, school...wherever I live, work, and play, that you would help them to focus on you. If they do not know you, draw them to you. (2 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 21, 2011 - 12/21/11 09:32 AM
Dear Father in Heaven, This day I lift up families to you. There are so many distractions in life. People get sidetracked by their own desires, the quest for more, what others think, trying to 'climb the ladder' of success, activities and more activities, working too hard, illness, challenges and problems, and so on. We often become consumed with all of that and distracted from all that is most important. God, I pray that every person spending this time with you right now will see the need to make time for family, to acknowledge and show love for their loved ones, (2 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 20, 2011 - 12/20/11 09:36 AM
Dear God, I praise you and thank you for who you are. Please guide me and help me when I face conflict and disagreement with others. Help me to follow biblical principles. Sometimes I'm just "hard-headed" and do not want to give in to compromise, even when either view, decision, desire is biblical. Help me to carefully consider the other person's perspective and situation. And if someone has wronged me, give me courage to confront them in a spirit of love and reconciliation. If they will not hear me, show me who should go with me to talk with the person. (2 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 17, 2011 - 12/17/11 09:36 AM
"Hear my cry, O God: Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to you. When my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been a shelter for me; a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of your wings" (Psalm 61:1-4). Please calm my soul and be my shelter always. I praise you and worship You, Almighty God and loving Father. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for who you are and all you have (1 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 16, 2011 - 12/16/11 01:06 PM
Dear Father in Heaven, my hope is in your unfailing love. I acknowledge that you are the source of all that I am. You are the one who gives me the ability to work, plan, and execute. Help me to keep my mind on your abilities, not my abilities. Please show me how to maintain this balance of your abilities and desire to do for me and through me and my abilities that you have given me to use in work and ministry. I pray that, with your guidance, I will use my abilities to the fullest at home, work, and (1 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 15, 2011 - 12/15/11 09:42 AM
Dear God, I pray for teens and for adults who may be trying to live in "Never, never land" and not grow up, that you would guide them to become mature, to remain or become pure, and to serve You in daily life and ministry. I pray for the proper nurturing environment and spiritual enlightenment to come their way. May they grow stronger in their faith each and every day, and may that faith always be in You, "Abba" Father. In Jesus' name, amen. (1 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 14, 2011 - 12/14/11 08:51 AM
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for Your loving hand of guidance. This is hard to do from a human standpoint (even a "child's" viewpoint), but thank You for Your chastisement. I know that You love me because You care enough to bring about or allow things to happen to stop me and redirect my priorities and my paths. When things don't turn out like I expect, it's usually because I'm not doing what You want me to do or I'm doing something that would not bring about the best results for me, my loved ones, or those in my circle (6 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 13, 2011 - 12/13/11 10:03 AM
Dear God, Sometimes I feel like I have poured myself into something or someone, and worked and fought for a cause, only to see no fruits for my labors. It all seemed in vain. But I know that You can work in all of that to fulfill a greater purpose. Please, don't let the labor of my heart and hands be in vain. I pray that all I do would be as unto You and for a good purpose and eternal value. Please bless the works of my heart and hands for Your glory. Please empower me with wisdom and insight (5 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 12, 2011 - 12/12/11 08:54 AM
Dear God, Help me. Please give me wisdom in how to deal with difficult people. Help me to understand why they are being difficult. Is it a personal problem? Are they experiencing something that has them irritable? Have they been abused or betrayed by someone? Do they have physical or mental health problems? What can I say or do to help the situation? Help me to speak and act in the way that will show your love in action. Help me to be the example and to do what is right, in whatever circumstance arises. Please anoint me, give me strength, (4 comments)
Prayer for the Day, December 9, 2011 - 12/09/11 08:50 AM
Dear God, This morning I remembered that children's song that goes "I am a promise. I am a possibility. I am a promise, with a capital P. I am a great big bundle of potentiality..." In Jesus, I am a great big bundle of potentiality. I pray that you would fill me with your wisdom and guide me in your will. I pray that I will be obedient to you and keep my focus on you. I ask this so that I will reach the potential you have planned for me. In Jesus' precious name I pray, amen. (3 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 5, 2011 - 12/05/11 08:01 AM
Dear Heavenly Father, I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground (Psalm 143:8-10). Lord, you know me and you know my special needs. I trust you to meet those needs in the way that is best. You know what is in my heart and mind today. I pray that you will provide calmness and fill me with good thoughts and actions as I interact with the people (7 comments)
Prayer for the Day - December 2, 2011 - 12/02/11 09:25 AM
Dear God, Thank you for being with me through another day and night. Thank you for answered prayer. And thank you for continuing to love me in spite of myself. Today I am keenly aware of people who need people. That's right...we all need each other. No man is an island and can stand alone. You know, because you created us with a need for fellowship and companionship. I pray that every person participating in this devotional time with you, and that every person who is in desperate need of this provision today, will be blessed with at least one very (2 comments)
