Friendly, should come naturally - 01/31/11 08:05 AM
Friendly, should come naturally...Many people have a conception of professional sales people as the gregarious back slapping person that has never met a stranger. Some of the most successful Sales People I know are very reserved, professional...and yes Friendly. Do You offer friendship to just your close circle of acquaintances or to people of all races and nationalities? We can be friendly to people and show respect to them even if their beliefs and customs are different from our own. The friendly people here in Mountain Home, Arkansas are a big part of the reason this area is recognized nationally as (8 comments)
Helpful, How far do you go? - 01/29/11 11:17 AM
Helpful, How far do you go? You may have figured it out by now, but for those that have not I will spell it out. I am taking the 12 points of "The Scout Law" and showing how it can be applied to real life and Real Estate in general. I have been blessed over the years to work with people that have been great mentors to me. What did they expect in return for their being helpful? Absolutely nothing other than me applying what they were teaching. There is certainly a place for structured instruction...for fee. I have also (5 comments)
Loyalty goes both ways - 01/28/11 08:13 AM
Loyalty goes both ways. What does that mean? What does Loyal mean? To be true to friends, family, leaders, which would include bosses or employers. To be true to Our nation and our God. In Real Estate it is quite common to hear agents fussing about the customer or client that was not loyal to them. It is so prevalent that I will call an agent to let them know that their customer told me that they were going to be loyal to them. Loyalty goes both ways...As an Agent we have a fiduciary relationship with our clients. We are required (2 comments)
Trustworthy, Not a bad place to start - 01/26/11 08:08 AM
Trustworthy, Not a bad place to start. I participated in a Tom Hopkins training class years ago that was quite beneficial to my business. One of the things that stuck with me over the years was that for a customer or client to do business with me in my Real Estate business they must first like me and trust me. I take the idea of being trustworthy very seriously. After all, it is the first point in the Scout Law. Trustworthy is the first of 12 points that we ask young men to adhere to. In Scouting, being Trustworthy means to be (8 comments)
How Do You Spend It? - 01/25/11 04:29 PM
How Do You Spend It? Time management is always a great subject. Some of us pay attention, and some of us don't
I have been to many seminars. I can honestly say that I got a good piece of information, program, idea, out of every seminar concerning Real Estate that I have ever been to. Most of those seminars, educational events, or motivational events cost me money to attend. I always figured that (12 comments)
What's Holding You Back? - 01/19/11 08:04 AM
What's Holding You Back? I have asked myself that question...Usually this time of the year. It seems to be normal for folks to look at their lives and business and try to figure out how to do better. I am reading a very good book that my wife bought me as a Christmas present. The book is by John Ortberg. It is "If You Want To Walk On Water, You've Got To Get Out Of The Boat" Notice...I said reading...I am not finished with it yet. What's Holding You Back? I love books that pull the truth out of the murkiness (10 comments)
